The Philadelphia Eagles, fresh off a Super Bowl victory, are not expected to sit quietly this offseason. They have some decisions to make with free agents, but some in sports media think the Eagles will take a “big swing” this offseason.
They have been linked to one of the best defenders in the NFL, and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has never been shy about making a big move.

Will the Eagles Trade for Myles Garrett?
The Browns have been pretty staunch in their stance that they have no interest in trading Myles Garrett, regardless of how enticing the offer is.
That has not stopped the Eagles from showing interest in Garrett. Garrett is an accomplished NFL player, winning the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year award and being a four-time first-team All-Pro.
On their “Scoop City” Podcast, Dianna Russini and Chase Daniel discuss the possibility that the Eagles make a move for Garrett.
Could the reigning champs get even STRONGER by adding one of the best pass rushers in the NFL?@DMRussini and I discuss the potential of Myles Garrett… as an Eagle 🦅

Russini mentioned that some people around the NFL believe that Howie Roseman is willing to move on from some of the Eagles scheduled free agents to make a “big swing, and that big swing would be Myles Garrett.”
Up to this point, however, the Browns have repeatedly stated that they have no interest in moving Garrett, even if they were offered two first round picks. That trade package is relevant, as that is what Khalil Mack was moved for back in 2018.
The free agents referenced in the video are four starters from the Eagles Super Bowl team that are not under contract for next season: DE Josh Sweat, DT Milton Williams, LB Zack Baun and OG Mekhi Becton.
All four of those players were major contributors in the Eagles Super Bowl run, as Sweat and Williams combined for 4.5 sacks (2.5 for Sweat and 2 for Milton), while Milton also had a strip-sack and recovery.
In that same game, Baun had an interception that directly led to an Eagles touchdown, and he was also a candidate for the 2024 defensive player of the year and a first-team All-Pro.
On the other side of the ball, Becton was the starting right guard for a season in which Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had the most rushing yards in a single season in NFL history, including both the regular season and playoffs.
None of those four players, however, compare to Garrett, who could be argued as the best player in the NFL, regardless of position- he is that good.
As referenced earlier, Roseman has also never been shy to make a major splash, as they seem to make a huge move in every offseason.
Last year, it was the signing of Saquon Barkley on the first day of free agency, and three years ago they traded a first round pick for A.J. Brown. Will it be Garrett this year? Stay tuned.
