NFL Draft: The five biggest takeaways from the Week 7 PFN Live Blog

Week 7 in the college football world saw plenty of action as it relates to the NFL Draft, and we're here to give you the five biggest takeaways from the weekend and the PFN Live Blog.

    Kevin Davidson - NFL Draft
Princeton University Football vs. Monmouth, Princeton, NJ, September 22, 2018.

Princeton quarterback Kevin Davidson garnering some attention

Pauline dropped a note in the 12:30 PM update on Princeton quarterback, saying that he was garnering some attention from NFL scouts and could be in play for the 2020 NFL Draft.

A quick note on Princeton quarterback Kevin Davidson, who was my Week 6 small school prospect to watch. He completed 13 of 20 passes last night against Lafayette for 170 yards. As Princeton dominated the game from the start and led the contest 28-0 before the third quarter ended, coaches pulled back and did not rely on Davidson’s passing as they had in previous weeks.

I mentioned on Twitter during the game there were a half dozen teams on hand to scout Davidson live. I’m told the New York Jets, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings, and San Francisco 49ers have all been to Princeton the past week to watch Davidson.

As Tony mentioned in the update, he featured him as the Week 6 small school prospect to watch in his weekly NFL Draft Risers and Sliders column. Here’s what he had to say about Davidson in that article:

Not many were familiar with Davidson’s game coming into the season as he was the backup quarterback for Princeton in 2018. However, the signal-caller is now building a buzz for himself in the scouting community.

In three games this year, he’s completed more than 74% of his passes for 993 passing yards with 10 touchdowns.  He’s a strong-armed pocket passer with a large degree of upside. If Davidson continues to play at this level, I would expect he’ll receive late-round consideration in next year’s draft.
