‘It’s a Blessing’ – NFL Draft Prospect Dillon Gabriel Sheds Light on His Memorable College Career

Oregon Ducks quarterback and NFL prospect Dillon Gabriel discussed his college football journey at the Senior Bowl earlier this week ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. While discussing a variety of topics with NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, including the Senior Bowl game itself, Gabriel outlined how his journey has been a blessing and something that he does not take for granted.

Gabriel has taken a unique journey to the NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with the University of Central Florida Knights before transferring to Oklahoma to play for the Sooners for two years. Ultimately, he transferred once again, landing with the Ducks for the 2024 season.

What Did Dillon Gabriel Highlight About His Football Journey?

Gabriel made clear that his football journey has been unique and is something that has made him the person and quarterback he is today, while also preparing him for the future.

“It’s a blessing, you know. You never take any opportunity for granted that you get to step on this field, so made the most of it and definitely smiling.

I think just playing a lot of football, a lot of experience. Being in a lot of places and playing a lot of different teams. But, you learn a lot about yourself throughout that process and how to find a way to win throughout all of that. So, it’s a big blessing and I’m excited to be here,” Gabriel stated.

Dillon Gabriel’s 2025 NFL Draft Projection

Gabriel had a great campaign with the Ducks this past year and was a major reason behind the program’s success. He had 3,857 passing yards, 37 total touchdowns, and only six interceptions on the season.

In Pro Football Network’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Gabriel was selected in the fifth round, No. 150 overall by the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins have one of the most exciting offenses in the NFL with stars like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De’Von Achane, led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. In July of 2024, Tagovailoa signed a four-year contract extension worth approximately $212 million.

However, Miami’s signal-caller missed six games due to concussion and injury, and they will have their eyes open on QBs who can bolster the depth.
