NFL DFS Picks Week 9: Tyrod Taylor and Kadarius Toney among top bargains

Before finalizing your NFL DFS fantasy football picks for Week 9, make sure you consider some of today's high-upside bargains.

Last Sunday morning, I presented five fantasy football DFS bargains. Three of them came through, including my favorite TE bargain of the week, Pat Freiermuth. For today’s games, I have a larger slate of high-upside NFL DFS Week 9 bargain picks.

    NFL DFS Week 9 Bargains | $5,000-$7,000

The following player values are based on FanDuel pricing. All are priced lower than their likely actual Week 9 value.

Tyrod Taylor, QB, Houston Texans ($6,900)

My colleague Jon Helmkamp hyped Tyrod Taylor earlier this week on the PFN website, and I hyped him on the “In the Mood” fantasy football podcast with colleague Tommy Garrett. So we at Pro Football Network are fairly unanimous in our belief that Taylor will be just fine in his first start since Week 2.

It helps that he’s playing Miami, home to one of the league’s worst defenses. Taylor’s versatility as a rusher certainly won’t hurt. There are 20 QBs more expensive than Taylor. That shouldn’t be.

Zack Moss, RB, Buffalo Bills ($6,000)

He’s enjoyed 4-7 targets in each of his last three games, and Buffalo should post 24+ points on Jacksonville. If you’re looking for a cheaper RB option to round out your DFS lineup, Zack Moss offers realistic 15-point potential at a competitive price.

AJ Dillon, RB, Green Bay Packers ($5,200)

As always, he’s one of the best RB handcuffs in fantasy. With Jordan Love at QB this week (and possibly next week), AJ Dillon and backfield mate Aaron Jones might have to carry the load, just like last week when Davante Adams and Allen Lazard were sidelined.

Like all backups, Dillon carries risks. But for $5,200, you can get a guy with TD-dependent RB2 upside. Not a bad bet against the Chiefs.

Jaylen Waddle, WR, Miami Dolphins ($6,100)

DeVante Parker is out, and Jaylen Waddle has averaged 11 targets in his last three contests and now faces the Texans. It’s a good day to place a wager on Waddle.

Kadarius Toney, WR, New York Giants ($5,700)

We’ve seen what the rookie can do as a healthy starter. In DFS, we’re generally playing for ceiling, and Kadarius Toney offers WR2 ceiling on a 2-6 Giants team that has nothing to lose.

Rashod Bateman, WR, Baltimore Ravens ($5,400)

Assuming he’s a full go, Rashod Bateman is a steal at this price. I’ve been predicting for weeks that he’ll overtake Marquise Brown as Baltimore’s No. 1 wideout. He’s easily worth the investment.

NFL DFS Week 9 Bargains | Less than $5,000

Who should you grab in DFS that is less than $5,000 on FanDuel? With DeAndre Hopkins potentially out, this Cardinals player could be a steal.

Antoine Wesley, WR, Arizona Cardinals ($4,700)

This is only for the gutsiest among you. With DeAndre Hopkins questionable and A.J. Green out, Antoine Wesley could step into the No. 3 wideout role. He played for Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech. Wesley is one of those deep, deep cuts who could give you 10+ points if things break right.

Brevin Jordan, TE, Houston Texans ($4,600)

The last Texan to be a top-14 fantasy TE was Owen Daniels in 2012. In several seasons since, they haven’t even had someone in the top 30. Rookie Brevin Jordan might not have the skill set to dominate in the NFL.

However, in a talent-depleted offense, he could become a streaming option in the second half of the season. Additionally, Jordan gets an ideal matchup today against the Dolphins.

Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Denver Broncos ($4,500)

Rolling with backup TEs doesn’t always work in DFS. Last week, it did with Eric Ebron injured because Freiermuth is that good.

With Noah Fant hurt, Albert Okwuegbunam offers a low floor but a TE1 ceiling. Assuming his knee injury doesn’t keep him out of today’s game, he’ll be a nice DFS lineup filler.

    Saints, D/ST ($4,700)

I’ll recommend three D/ST options, depending on your cap space. New Orleans could crush Atlanta at home today. I believe they’ll be a top-three D/ST for the week when the dust clears.

    Cowboys, D/ST ($3,900)

It’s not that the opposing Broncos can’t move the ball. It’s that Dallas has the potential to neutralize Denver’s running game if the high-flying Cowboys jump out to a big lead. That should lead to more sacks and potentially more turnovers.

    Giants, D/ST ($3,500)

Coming off a tragic week, what kind of Raiders team will we see today? That’s the gamble with the Giants, which could be a bottom-10 D/ST as easily as it could be a top-10 D/ST. As one of the week’s cheapest options, they’re worth the investment.
