NFL insider Rich Eisen believes that Deion Sanders becoming the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys would break the internet. While appearing on his popular “Rich Eisen Show,” Eisen expressed how impactful a Coach Prime-Dallas reunion would be for the entire league, the media, and the fans.
What Did Rich Eisen Say About Deion Sanders, Dallas Cowboys Rumors?
Eisen made clear that Sanders becoming the latest Cowboys head coach would be massive for the NFL and create major media attention from around the world.
“We start with what would break the internet. Absolutely would break the internet if Deion Sanders becomes the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. It’s just that simple and it doesn’t take much of a leap to connect those dots that it would break the internet and it would be everything that we talk about. It would suck the oxygen out of the NFL room,” Eisen stated.
Eisen’s comments come in the wake of various reports earlier in the week of Prime Time and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones having at least some form of mutual interest in discussing the Cowboys’ vacant head coaching job.

Those reports were confirmed by Sanders himself, who indicated that the conversation did occur; however, he also detailed his commitment to the ongoing project with the Colorado Buffaloes.
Do the Cowboys Make Sense for Coach Prime?
Of all the NFL teams in search of a new head coach, there is no doubt that the Cowboys are the most obvious landing spot for Coach Prime. First, Sanders played for America’s Team during his pro career and won a Super Bowl with the franchise. Furthermore, he has developed a strong relationship and connection with Jones, who has the power to single-handedly decide who the next Cowboys coach is.
However, despite these factors, Sanders has made clear over the past few months, including as recently as earlier this week to ESPN, that he has no real intention of leaving the Buffaloes and was committed to the University of Colorado Boulder.
Though that is not to say that a move to the NFL is completely off the table as things change extremely quickly in professional sports, it does complicate the situation for both parties.
Add in the fact that Sanders’ two children, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders, may both be playing in the league next year, and there are even more questions about where Coach Prime sees himself coaching for the 2025 campaign.
