NFL Betting Lines: Who should I bet on in Week 3?

After a week filled with dramatic finishes and injuries, how should we look at betting lines and spreads for Week 3 of the NFL season?

NFL Betting Lines 2020: Official Leans

Pittsburgh Steelers (-4) vs. Houston Texans, Over/Under 44.5

The Steelers are 2-0, and they are clicking on both sides of the ball. While Denver made a late push this past Sunday, Pittsburgh’s defense had two takeaways and seven sacks en route to their 26-21 win in their home opener at the giant ketchup bottle, Heinz Field.

Outside of DeShaun Watson, the Texans are a bunch of C+ and B- guys on offense, and their defense is much of the same outside of J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus. The Texans also allow the most pressure on their quarterback, while the Steelers defense leads the NFL in pressure applied.

Jarrett’s Official Lean: PIT -4 (+100): Pittsburgh looks good, but it feels like they are due for an upset loss that every team faces at some point in the season. While the Texans aren’t in the same tier as the Steelers, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Deshaun Watson make enough plays to pull off an upset.

Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5) at Philadelphia Eagles, Over/Under 46

The Eagles have gotten off to about as bad a start as you could think of. They blew a 17 point lead to Washington in Week 1 and lost by 18 at home to the Rams in Week 2. Sure, they have injuries on the offensive line, and their skill position players aren’t exactly elite, but there is no excusing the way they have played on either side of the ball.

The Bengals have holes all over their offensive line, and their defense needs patching as well, but my goodness, does Joe Burrow look like he’s made for this. The rookie signal-caller threw the ball 61 (yes, you read that right) times against the Browns last Thursday night, and kept the Bengals in hit basically by himself.

While both teams have offensive line problems, neither defense has gotten to the quarterback consistently, with the Eagles accounting for just four sacks while the Bengals account for only two.

Jarrett’s Official Lean: CIN +6.5 (-110): Joe Burrow is fantastic, and the Eagles have allowed the sixth-highest passer rating to opposing quarterbacks through two games. 6.5 is a lot to give, but it feels like the Carson Wentz and the Eagles are bound to explode sometime very soon.
