NFL Announcers Week 12: CBS, FOX, & NBC NFL Thanksgiving Assignments

As football fans around the country settle down for their Thanksgiving day action, which NFL announcers will they hear throughout the day?

As football fans around the country — and the globe — settle down for their Thanksgiving day action, which NFL announcers will they hear throughout the day? With some changes in the announcer lineups for FOX and NBC in 2022, the NFL coverage of Thanksgiving will have a slightly different sound to it.

    Thanksgiving CBS Announcers

Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions | 12:30 p.m. ET
Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, Tracy Wolfson (field reporter)

Of the three NFL Thanksgiving day games, it is only the CBS crew that will have a familiar ring to it. The big change from last year is that 2022 is CBS’ turn to broadcast the early game. CBS and FOX rotate who broadcasts the 12:30 p.m. ET and 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff on a yearly basis.

At the end of the game, the CBS announcers will decide which player from the game will win the “CBS Madden Player of the Game” award. The NFL will then donate $10,000 in the winner’s name to a youth or high school football program of their choice.

    Thanksgiving FOX Announcers

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys | 4:30 p.m. ET
Kevin Burkhardt, Greg Olsen; Erin Andrews, Tom Rinaldi (field reporters)

The FOX broadcast will likely be the biggest change to what viewers are used to on Thanksgiving. With Joe Buck and Troy Aikman departing for ESPN, the FOX Thanksgiving crew will have a different shape for the first time in around 20 years.

Instead, we will hear the duo of Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen, who have replaced Buck and Aikman as the lead FOX announcers for the 2022 NFL season. They will be joined by their usual field reporters, Erin Andrews, and Tom Rinaldi. At the end of the game, the announcers will select the “FOX Madden Player of the Game.”

    Thanksgiving NBC Announcers

New England Patriots at Minnesota Vikings | 20:20 p.m. ET
Mike Tirico, Tony Dungy, Jason Garrett, Melissa Stark (field reporter)

The shift in announcers for viewers in the NBC coverage will not be as big as with FOX. Mike Tirico has been a frequent voice on Thanksgiving broadcasts in recent years, and Tony Dungy has also made appearances. Last year, Drew Brees was in the booth with Tirico. However, Brees and NBC parted ways before the 2022 season. Instead, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett will make it a three-man booth alongside Dungy and Tirico
