Multiple NFL Analysts Predict Commanders Will Upgrade Jayden Daniels’ Weapons By Adding $21.8 Million Star WR

Two NFL analysts believe the Washington Commanders should invest in their offense further by adding superstar WR Tee Higgins to their core.

The Washington Commanders had one of the most ridiculous single-season turnarounds in recent NFL history. A year after racking up just four wins, Washington struck gold with Jayden Daniels in the 2024 NFL Draft, as he went on to have what many believe to be the greatest rookie season for a quarterback in league history.

Daniels led the Commanders to the playoffs, where through sublime performances, they ended up in the NFC Championship Game before falling short to the eventual champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. But the future is extremely bright in Washington, and it could get brighter with the addition of this superstar wide receiver.

Washington Commanders and Jayden Daniels Predicted To Add New Weapon

This past season, it was all offense for the Commanders, as Daniels powered them to the eighth-ranked offense in the league, per PFSN’s Offense+ metric. But ultimately, it was three crucial turnovers (all fumbles) that ended Washington’s Super Bowl aspirations.

As a result, a few key analysts from ESPN believe the best route forward for Washington is to upgrade its offensive weapons. That directly translates to the player who PFSN has as the highest-ranked available free agent, Tee Higgins.

While he’s been a WR2 for essentially his entire career, Higgins produces at an elite level. And both Matt Bowen and Jason Reid are firmly on board with the idea.

Bowen made it clear that the fit was a dream scenario, claiming, “Wide receiver Tee Higgins signs with the Commanders. Adding another perimeter target for quarterback Jayden Daniels should be an offseason priority for Washington. It has the cap space to pair Higgins with Terry McLaurin, giving Daniels two difference-makers in the passing game.”

Simultaneously, Reid believed that building on Daniels’ rookie season would be far easier with Higgins alongside.

“Higgins signs with the Commanders. Daniels can take a big step forward with the help of Higgins. And for the rest of the NFC East, Higgins and McLaurin will prove to be a nightmare pairing,” Reid commented.

Higgins, despite sharing the field with the Triple Crown winner, Ja’Marr Chase, tallied 911 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season in just 12 games played. Both those numbers would rank second among all pass catchers for the Commanders this season, only behind Terry McLaurin.

Whether slotting in as a WR1 for the first time in his career, or continuing his role as WR2, Higgins could be an elite addition to a team looking to make its next jump — and with the requisite cap space to make it happen.
