A former NFL LB-turned-analyst warned Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs about their upcoming challenge against the Houston Texans.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have enjoyed their bye week and are now ready for business. They’ll be facing off against the Houston Texans at home.

While many are expecting the Chiefs to get their hands on the Lombardi Trophy for the third time in a row, Emmanuel Acho preached caution.

Emmanuel Acho Issues Warning to Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs

The Chiefs are planning for their date with destiny in New Orleans on Feb. 9.

However, former NFL LB-turned-analyst Acho suggested on FS1’s “The Facility” that they could get derailed.

“Chiefs should be concerned about this game,” he said. “If you know DeMeco Ryans, like, I know DeMeco Ryans… the Chiefs should be concerned about this game.”

“The Chiefs should be concerned about this game at every level, defensively versus the Chiefs’ offense, the Texans should win. The corners: y’all seen what [Kamari] Lassiter and [Derek] Stingley did last week!”

“What the pass rushers Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter, best pass-rushing tandem in football, led the league in sacks,” he added.

The Texans made light work of the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round, winning the game 32-12. However, the Chiefs faced off against the Texans the previous month in Week 16, and the defending champions came out on top, winning the contest 27-19 at home.

Travis Kelce Trusts Mahomes To Take Them Through

On Tuesday, the tight end appeared on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show,” pointing out that he and his team relish the challenge of taking on the Texans. His belief in overcoming them is based on the mastery that Mahomes shows in the playoffs.

“I’ve seen Pat weather the storm and he’s better because of it,” said Kelce to McAfee. “When the team needs him the most he always steps up in ways that he hasn’t before and it happens year in and year out and it’s so much fun to be on a team with him.”

The Texans are well aware of the damage that Mahomes can cause. In 2020, he led the Chiefs to overcome a 24-0 score to win the playoff game 51-31.

Only time will tell whether Mahomes can produce a similar performance, or C.J. Stroud will make his mark on Jan. 18.
