NFL Analyst Urges Miami Dolphins To Trade $28,698,750 Superstar This Offseason, Proposes Interesting Landing Spot

The Miami Dolphins are entering a confusing offseason, and one NFL analyst suggests they should trade Tyreek Hill to their AFC rivals.

The Miami Dolphins are entering a confusing offseason. After hopes of improving on their playoff appearance from the previous season, the team fell flat in 2024. Miami finished with an 8-9 record in the regular season and failed to qualify for the playoffs, setting them up for tough decisions this offseason.

Now, one NFL analyst believes they should trade their star receiver, Tyreek Hill, who had one of the worst seasons of his career last year and wanted out after Dolphins final regular game of the season.

NFL Analyst Suggests Miami Dolphins Should Trade Tyreek Hill to Kansas City Chiefs

Hill made headlines for all of the wrong reasons after Miami’s final regular-season game. With the Dolphins missing the playoffs, Hill couldn’t hold back his frustration and delivered his infamous “I’m out” comments.

While Hill backtracked on his comments and said he intended to play, the receiver was clearly frustrated with some of Miami’s offensive struggles in 2024, ending the season with an Offense+ grade of 76.3 (C).

The Dolphins finished 20th in points per drive, as Tua Tagovailoa’s inconsistency and durability concerns created instability; when Tagovailoa was out, the offense completely collapsed, averaging just 13.3 points per game and -0.23 EPA per play.

The Dolphins’ front office now faces a difficult decision on whether they should keep Hill and hope for a rebound. But NFL.com’s Adam Rank suggests they should trade Hill, and guess where – Kansas City.

“Tyreek Hill’s public expression of frustration at the end of a down season for Miami made it seem like he could soon be headed for a new home. Since then, a good amount of cold water has been dumped on that notion, thanks in part to public comments by the five-time All-Pro and the team — but it has not been definitively doused. And I still kind of like the idea of moving him if the price is right.”

Hill only played 12 games last season and registered his lowest receiving total since 2019. He “failed to top 12 yards per catch and six TD grabs in the same season for the first time since his rookie year”, and Rank believes he would be the best fit for a team “that is on the brink of winning a Super Bowl,” i.e., Kansas City Chiefs.

“On one hand, the Chiefs proved — twice! — that they can win a Super Bowl title without Hill. On the other, a steady dip in explosiveness since they traded him to Miami in 2022 finally caught up with them in Super Bowl LIX, when they finished with the second-lowest yardage total (275) of Patrick Mahomes’ playoff career.

“Kansas City has other jobs to do, like beefing up Mahomes’ protection, and Xavier Worthy showed promise as a rookie. But hey, maybe it would be a good idea to give Mahomes more capable receivers, especially with Travis Kelce’s future up in the air. And it’s not like they are shy about bringing back former pass-catchers or taking swings on the trade market.”

Over the entire 2024 season, the Chiefs lacked a true No. 1 wideout. Rookie Xavier Worthy led Kansas City receivers with 59 catches and 638 receiving yards, and with Travis Kelce’s uncertain future, the addition of Hill would add much-needed firepower to the Chiefs’ offense.

Hill played for the Chiefs during the first six seasons of his NFL career after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He posted four 1,000-yard seasons in six years with the Chiefs. Hill was the team’s No. 1 receiver in 2019 when the Chiefs won their first Super Bowl championship with Mahomes at quarterback.
