‘I Think He Is an Incredible Receiver’ – NFL Analyst Shares Unique Perspective of Travis Hunter’s Abilities

NFL analyst makes eye-catching remarks about Travis Hunter, who's expected to be selected within the top five picks of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Travis Hunter is a hot prospect in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft who is expected to go off the boards as a top-five prospect.

His two-way abilities are what make him special and stand out in the NFL circles. Although he is optimistic about his chances to play on both sides of the ball, experts have been raising doubts over the feasibility of this idea.

The standards at the college and pro levels are completely different, and staying atop one’s position in the latter becomes extremely difficult. According to Matt Harmon of Yahoo Sports, Hunter is a better wide receiver and should consider playing full time.

NFL Analyst Shares His Opinion on Travis Hunter

The 2025 NFL Combine takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis from Feb. 27 to March 2. He is expected to participate in the drills and attend interviews with several teams. Although he has enrolled as a corner, there are high chances that Hunter would also flex about his wide receiver skills.

Speaking on Yahoo Sports’ media session, Harmon mentioned that he should focus more on the offense while also giving Hunter the credit for keeping his options open as a cornerback.

“I feel like everything I’m about to say about him as a receiver might end up being pointless because he could go to a team that only wants him to play five, 10 snaps as a receiver. I think he’s an incredible receiver,” Harmon said this week. “He reminds me of prime Odell Beckham Jr.

“I don’t have a good barometer of defensive strength all the time. So, several of the times I watch him just destroy these defenses. I got to be like, Was this defense good? You know, or something like that. He’s got everything I’d want in a receiver, but he’s also an incredible corner, too.

“Like, I mean, don’t get me wrong, he’s obviously great at that, but if we can get any clues about, um, what position he might play more at because I don’t want to sit here for the next two months and talk about. I think this guy might be the best receiver prospect I’ve ever seen, and then he plays like 10 snaps a game. I just want to get it on the record that I think this guy is an incredible receiver,” he added.

Hunter’s flexibility is his strength, and teams like the Tennessee Titans or the New York Giants would look to get the best of his skills if they managed to land him in April.
