The upcoming 2025 NFL Draft is loaded with talent, and the debate over which teams will land the biggest steals is heating up. One analyst believes the Kansas City Chiefs could make a splash by trading up for a “blue-chip offensive player.”

Kansas City Chiefs Projected To Make a ‘Big Draft-Day Move’
The Chiefs have now made three straight Super Bowls and won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. Their success has been undeniable, as they’ve reached the AFC Championship Game for seven consecutive seasons.
That said, after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl in a blowout, concerns have emerged about the Chiefs’ offense — particularly the offensive line, which surrendered six sacks in Super Bowl 59.
With no major improvements in free agency, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd highlighted the Chiefs’ offensive line struggles.
“Their offensive line is absolutely in flux. Their left tackle [Jaylon Moore] has never been the starting left tackle. That’s honestly like having a Bentley and finding the cheapest insurance on the market for it,” he said on “The Colin Cowherd Podcast.”
Fox Sports NFL analyst Danny Parkins echoed those concerns and predicted that the Chiefs could make a big move in the 2025 NFL Draft to land a “blue-chip offensive player.” He also suggested they could target a tight end, with Travis Kelce potentially playing in his final season.
“This is the last year of Kelce, he’s made it clear…” Parkins said. “But I could see the Chiefs trading up in the first round for a tackle. I could see that happening, or a tight end, yes, like, I just think I can see a big draft-day move for the Chiefs to try to inject a blue-chip offensive player.”
Kansas City will have plenty of offensive talent to consider in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Top tight end prospects include Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren, while standout offensive linemen Will Campbell and Armand Membou are also projected early picks.
However, Kansas City holds the 31st overall selection and would likely need to trade up to secure one of them. In PFSN’s latest seven-round mock draft by Jacob Infante, the Chiefs are instead projected to focus on defense and select Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon.
“After addressing the offensive line in free agency, the Kansas City Chiefs turn their focus to the defensive trenches in this mock draft. This is a loaded defensive tackle class, but Derrick Harmon has the tools to be among the best. He’s big, long, and athletic, with the power and hand usage to generate pressure up the middle,” Infante wrote about the pick.
