The New York Jets have finally pressed the reset button and are moving forward without quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While the final details have not been confirmed, it’s clear he won’t be on the team in 2025. That decision also opens up trade options for wide receiver Davante Adams.
While plenty of teams could use Rodgers’ arm talent and championship experience, a surprising new suitor has emerged in trade speculation, and the deal could include his battery mate.

NFL Analyst Predicts Blockbuster Package Deal for Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams
Rodgers’ split with the Jets loomed for a while, and rightly so, as the quarterback was far from his usual best last season. He finished 21st in PFN’s QB+ rankings with a 72.2 (C-) grade. On the season, Rodgers had a -0.02 EPA/DB (27th), ranked 36th from a clean pocket (0.07 EPA/DB), and converted just 33.5% of the time on third down (29th). His 6.2 nYPA ranked 30th and was very low, considering he saw 5.8 YAC/Cp, the ninth-most in the NFL.
Beyond the QB+ numbers, Rodgers had a 2.5 touchdown-to-interception ratio, his third-worst in 16 seasons as a starter behind 2022 and 2008. That included a 4.8% touchdown rate, his third-lowest as a starter behind the 2019 and 2008 campaigns.
But a change of scenery might help the future Hall of Famer regain his form, and Cory Woodroof of USA Today predicts he will go to the Tennessee Titans in a package deal with Adams.
“The Titans have the first-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but the haul the team could get back for this selection in a shaky quarterback class might prove too good to pass up. In this scenario, Tennessee brings Rodgers in on a one-year deal as the marquee stopgap quarterback addition of the offseason.
“Second-year coach Brian Callahan may need to win now to keep his job for the future, which may make Rodgers an appealing option. Adams joins Rodgers in Nashville, and the two try to make the Titans the team where the duo’s comeback really takes wings.”
“Tennessee has good offensive weapons on offense like wide receiver Calvin Ridley, running backs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears and tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo. Add Adams and a draft pick to the mix, and Rodgers could make it work for a season. If this doesn’t work, the Titans can use their 2025 NFL Draft trade haul to move up for a 2026 quarterback and kick off a proper rebuild.”
Tennessee is also likely to move on from Will Levis, who was a negative-play machine in his second season. While most have assumed it will use the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on its preferred quarterback, Rodgers might not be a bad pick, considering he is affordable and could allow the Titans not to reach in a below-average quarterback class.
With Rodgers moving on, Adams is also expected to seek a change of scenery this offseason, and the two pairing up in Tennesse could significantly boost the Titans’ playoff hopes. They have connected on 83 touchdowns (including playoffs), the fifth-most by a duo all-time.
It’s also worth noting that Rodgers raved about Tennessee not too long ago and called it a “phenomenal state.” But with several other options, it remains to be seen where the veteran quarterback will decide to play next season.
