NFL Analyst Gives Scathing Review of Steelers’ Plan To Bring Daniel Jones to Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers are rumored to be in the race for Daniel Jones to bolster their QB room. However, one analyst disagrees with the plan.

Daniel Jones’ time with the New York Giants was cut short last season. The quarterback served as a backup to Sam Darnold with the Minnesota Vikings last year after the Giants granted his release midseason.

It’s rumored that Jones will be moving again — and this time to the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, NFL analyst Danny Parkins doesn’t understand the reasons behind this move.

Daniel Jones to the Steelers Gets Immediate Repudiation From Danny Parkins

Once hailed as the successor to the throne left vacant by Eli Manning, Jones has now been relegated to the bench. On the other hand, Pittsburgh’s plan of having two starting QBs last season did not pay much dividends either.

The rumors are swirling that with the full recovery of J.J. McCarthy, the Vikings are interested in offloading Jones and the Steelers are willing to onboard him. However, during his appearance on FS1’s “Breakfast Ball,” Parkins called out this idea.

“Pittsburgh had Daniel Jones,” he said. “They just called him Justin Fields. They’re the same guy. They are not NFL starting-caliber quarterbacks.”

“These guys are the same across the board as quarterbacks, and in Pittsburgh, when they had Justin Fields, they brought in Russell Wilson, and they benched Justin Fields for Russell Wilson, and that didn’t work either.”

NFL Reporter Points Out Perfect Destination for Jones

The Las Vegas Raiders’ experience with quarterbacks hasn’t been a wonderful one. After Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew failed to make their marks, analyst Mark Sanchez considers Jones the one to do it.

“Do not sleep on Daniel Jones,” Sanchez said during his appearance on Colin Cowherd’s “The Herd.”

“Wherever that guy goes, if he lands in the right spot, that would be one of the best places for him with that head coach,” Sanchez continued.

Could Daniel Jones end up on a rival team for a Thanksgiving bout? One NFL analyst made the plea for this far-fetched theory to come to fruition.

“He has all the ability in the world, that kid would be dialed there [the Raiders]. I love that possibility.”
