NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has outlined his belief that Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers did not have a good season ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. While discussing the recent season in the lead-up to the NFL Draft on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’ this week, Jeremiah detailed how he thought that Ewers fell short of his pre-season projections this year.
Daniel Jeremiah’s Analysis of Quinn Ewers 2024 Season
McAfee posted the clip on X and detailed the key points of what Jeremiah said about Ewers.
“‘I was excited about Quinn Ewers coming into this year and I was hoping he was gonna take the next step.. He didn’t play as well as I hoped that he would’ @MoveTheSticks #PMSLive,” the post was captioned.

Ewers had an up and down season with the Longhorns this year. He had 3,472 passing yards, 31 passing touchdowns, and 12 interceptions on the campaign. Furthermore, he got his team to the semi-finals of the College Football Playoffs. However, as Jeremiah alluded to, Ewers got injured and did not look as “urgent and quick” as he did previously.
Quinn Ewers 2025 NFL Draft Projection
In Pro Football Network’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Ewers was selected in the third round, No. 86 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders, via a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers.
“Quinn Ewers commands the field with exceptional arm talent and the ability to dissect defenses under any conditions. He thrives under pressure, attacks every level of the field, and plays with a gritty, leave-it-all-on-the-field mentality that NFL fans will love.
While injury concerns and boundary consistency remain areas for growth, these are minor nitpicks. Ewers’ potential shines, and staying healthy through a full season is the key to solidifying his NFL readiness.”
In many ways, Ewers to the Raiders could make sense for all parties involved. For the franchise, Ewers has the skills to succeed at the next level, something that could solve the long-term positional problems they have had in recent seasons. For Ewers, he would be joining an offense that has a star receiving option in tight end Brock Bowers. As a result, Ewers to the Raiders has the ability to elevate everyone involved with the franchise.
The Raiders recently hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach, something that would be extremely beneficial for Ewers if drafted by the franchise. Carroll was the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks when the club drafted QB Russell Wilson, also in the third round, and developed him into a Super Bowl Champion and the nine-time Pro Bowler he is today.
