One of the more shocking stories of the NFL season broke through this week. As the Cincinnati Bengals won a thriller over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, news of a break-in at the home of QB Joe Burrow made the rounds.
Since then, stories of previous break-ins have made the rounds with the league’s best chipping in with their opinions. As a result, when opinions are concerned in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers took to the podium to talk about it as well.
However, beyond sympathy for the situation, Rodgers also took the time to air out his grievances with a media company for its breach of his privacy.

While talking about the situation, Rodgers had his own story to share. Even though he had the requisite security in place to save himself, he still had issues with the Daily Mail for divulging his details. When asked about the break-ins around the league, he made his stance clear with his $9.5 million property.
“I have security full-time. Thanks to the Daily Mail for putting my s**t out there.” According to the four-time league MVP, the situation is something that every athlete in the league considers. Due to the popularity of the sport and its players, the risk factor also goes up.
“It’s something that we all think about, you know, from time to time. You know, kind of exposed in that way, and it seems like there’s a professional aspect to this where they don’t care if there’s cameras or an alarm set, they’re going to get in and get out quickly.”
But it wasn’t just a space for Rodgers to air out his grievances. Instead, he actually took the time to give credit where it was due, this time to the league itself.
“Hopefully, it doesn’t happen anymore. But I will say this, and I used this years ago: the league has a really good resource where they have security experts that can come out to your house and give you ideas about where to put cameras, where the weak spots are.”
While calling out the “guys” for not using it, he did urge more players to take the necessary precautions. “I think guys in general just don’t use it because they don’t have time or they’re thinking about other things or they’re busy playing video games or whatever it is.”
“But, there’s a lot of great resources that the league puts together. I think more guys should probably look at as far as the safety of their home.”
The situation that Joe Burrow had to go through was downright terrible, and practically the entire league sympathizes with him. However, let’s hope it also works as a wake-up call for the rest of the league to be more careful about their security as well. As Rodgers dictates, there are certain resources in place to achieve that possibility.
