This 2025 NFL Mock Draft follows the New York Jets as they navigate a tumultuous time in their franchise’s history. Can they exit the Aaron Rodgers era with forward momentum, or will they continue to stall?
Rodgers will at least return for the 2024 NFL season, but his outlook beyond that is unclear. He’s a soon-to-be 41-year-old quarterback coming off an Achilles tear, so naturally, there is some apprehension. He’s under contract through 2025, but a succession plan must be in place, regardless.
The establishment of such a plan depends in part on who’s doing the planning: Something the Jets’ current regime might not have control over if they fail to meet expectations in 2024. But change is going to happen. Here’s what it might look like.
Who Could the New York Jets Draft in 2025?
1.10) New York Jets: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Trade: Jets receive No. 10 overall pick; Buccaneers receive No. 22 overall pick, No. 54 overall pick, 2026 first-round pick.
The second trade of our full 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft involved the New York Jets, who traded up from No. 22 to add Aaron Rodgers’ successor: Shedeur Sanders. If the Jets make the playoffs, Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas might be safe. But they must stay on the gas.
Sanders will have questions to answer about his leadership style, but there’s no questioning his ability to command an offense on the field and distribute the football. He’s a strong-armed signal-caller with stellar accuracy and precision, made potent by discretion.
Sanders isn’t yet in the running for QB1 on my board; Carson Beck holds the top spot comfortably. But improvements on the offensive line in 2023 could help Sanders improve some of his more glaring flaws: Pocket discipline and ball security under pressure.
Though Sanders isn’t quite an elite physical talent athletically, there’s enough in his toolbox to command appeal. At his peak, he’s garnered upside comparisons to Geno Smith, who’s grown into a Pro Bowl passer with the Seattle Seahawks.
3.86) New York Jets: Jared Brown, WR, South Carolina
At South Carolina, Jared Brown will get to showcase his electric athleticism, slippery RAC ability, and alignment versatility — traits that could endear him to teams like New York.
Brown never got to fully showcase his skill set at Coastal Carolina, but it was clear that the 5’11”, 195-pound WR was a potentially special playmaker with the ball in his hands.

In the SEC, Brown’s ability to elude tacklers, create space, and stretch the field should show up early, and that same creation ability could play well alongside Garrett Wilson.
3.93) New York Jets: Francisco Mauigoa, LB, Miami (FL)
This is a pick for the future, as both Quincy Williams and C.J. Mosley have expiring contracts in 2025. Francisco Mauigoa is an explosive and tenacious tackling machine. And in the immediate timeline, the 6’3″, 230-pound Mauigoa can be a quality SAM backer.
