New York Giants Fans Rejoice as Kadarius Toney Has Poor Thursday Night Football Performance for Chiefs

New York Giants fans took the Detroit Lions' side on Thursday night because of one player they couldn't wait to troll.

Turns out the Detroit Lions had a rare ally in their cheering section for the 2023 NFL season opener vs. the Kansas City Chiefs: New York Giants fans.

That fanbase couldn’t help but take to social media to blast one of their past wide receivers now lining up for the defending champs: Kadarius Toney.

Kadarius Toney Was Intended WR on Lions’ Pick-Six

Unfortunately for the Super Bowl 57 champion, Toney was the intended receiver on this Lions pick-six executed by Brian Branch:

That pass was catchable by Toney before it ended up in the hands of the first-year defender.

Fans, particularly those representing the G-Men, couldn’t wait to roast Toney.

Fans React to Toney’s Poor Outing

One New York fan began his trolling with a Giants celebration gif.

One Giants fan and N.Y. sports content creator, Alex Wilson, couldn’t help but joke on X.

“Richie James running in front of Kadarius Toney, forcing him to drop it is just hilarious from a Giants fan perspective,” he said.

Another fan used a popular text acronym directed at Toney.

Even Giants sports writers went after Toney.

“Maybe Kadarius Toney should focus a little more on catching the football as opposed to DM’ing Giants fans to argue with them,” typed Doug Rush of FanSided.

ESPN Giants reporter Jordan Raanan was another who chimed in, sharing why the G-Men traded Toney.

“Can’t trust Kadarius Toney, in every way imaginable. That’s why the Giants traded him,” Raanan said.

The critics then featured Ex-Giants, as former punter Lawrence Tynes took to X, wishing Toney all the best for his direct messages.

    National Media Piles On

    National media got involved, too.

PFN’s own Kyle Yates brought back a popular meme involving an infamous NBA Finals moment featuring LeBron James and J.R. Smith.

NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, known for his blunt takes, especially on FS1’s “Undisputed,” gave a “WTF” to Toney’s outing.

Lastly, ESPN NFL personality Mina Kimes joined in on the Toney troll train.
