How Many Picks Do the Giants Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Currently, the Giants have seven picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They still maintain the rights to their original picks in Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Round 4, and Round 7.

A pick swap with the Buffalo Bills for lineman Boogie Basham Jr. cost the Giants their original Round 6 pick, but they were able to add a seventh-round pick from Buffalo in return.

The Giants’ original Round 5 pick was sent to the Carolina Panthers as part of the Brian Burns trade. However, the Giants were able to recoup a fifth-rounder in the trade that sent defensive tackle Leonard Williams to the Seattle Seahawks.

What Are the Giants’ Biggest Needs in 2025?

Quarterback is at the very top of the totem pole in New York. Just last offseason, there was optimism that Daniel Jones would be “the guy” for the Giants. But after a disastrous 2023 season that involved injuries and poor play, most onlookers operate with the assumption that a change will eventually be made.

There is an out in Jones’ contract that allows whoever runs the Giants to break free from his contract — at the cost of over $22 million in dead cap. But if things don’t improve, and if stagnation incites a regime change, that may be an option that is enacted.

In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Giants will have replacement options to peruse. Georgia’s Carson Beck is PFN’s preliminary QB1 of the 2025 class, but others such as Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, Houston’s Donovan Smith, Penn State’s Drew Allar, Texas A&M’s Conner Weigman, and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe also hold merit.

Sanders, in particular, has been a favored option among Giants fans to start the cycle. According to early Mock Draft Simulator (MDS) data at PFN, Sanders has been the most selected player by Giants users in the MDS.

For New York, little matters until they have their QB, but other positions bear noting as well. On offense, running back, wide receiver, offensive guard, and right tackle could all require reinvestment by April.

Meanwhile, on defense, the Giants are thin at defensive end alongside Dexter Lawrence II. Safety could be a need if Jason Pinnock leaves in free agency, and cornerback also remains a relatively uncertain position. Cor’Dale Flott and rookie Dru Phillips will each get a chance to prove themselves opposite Deonte Banks.
