It’s looking as though the 2025 offseason could be an important transitionary phase for the New York Giants, and this 2025 NFL Mock Draft explores what that might look like. Is a new quarterback due to arrive?
Who Could the New York Giants Draft in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Note: The draft order for the 2025 NFL Mock Draft was derived from my record and playoff predictions for the 2024 NFL regular season.
1) New York Giants (via DEN): Carson Beck, QB, Georgia
Projected Trade: Giants receive No. 1 overall pick, 2026 seventh-round pick; Broncos receive No. 2 overall pick, 2026 second-round pick, 2026 third-round pick
In this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, the Giants make a slight trade-up with the Broncos to block out other QB-needy teams and ensure they acquire Georgia’s Carson Beck.
On my board, Beck is the preliminary QB1 in the 2025 NFL Draft by a sizable margin. His mix of arm talent, processing ability, poise, and discretion can elevate an NFL team.
2.34) New York Giants: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
At 5’8″and 217 pounds, Ashton Jeanty is a nightmare to tackle with his combined running leverage, mass, contact balance, and elite elusiveness and agility. New York has a respectable RB stable, but Jeanty is the three-down destroyer.
3.66) New York Giants: Xavier Nwankpa, S, Iowa
If he can improve his weaving skills, Xavier Nwankpa can be the next high-level center-field safety in the NFL.
Rounds 4-7
4.99) Tory Horton, WR, Colorado State
5.147) Thor Griffith, DT, Louisville
7.195) Riley Mahlman, OT, Wisconsin
7.216) Xavier Truss, OG, Georgia
Giants 2025 NFL Mock Draft Analysis
There’s some cautious optimism in circles that Daniel Jones will find his way again in the 2024 regular season and rebound as the Giants’ starter. I’m still not certain that ends up being the case.
While the addition of Malik Nabers helps the weapons core, there’s still a great deal of work to do in that department, and questions remain on the offensive line as well. QB won’t be the only need in 2025, but odds are, it will be the biggest.
Beck is the preliminary QB1 of the 2025 NFL Draft on PFN’s board, and he has the pro-ready profile to catalyze the Giants’ rebuild once they get enough talent to compete with playoff contenders. The additions of Ashton Jeanty and Tory Horton help with that.
Horton, in particular, could be a nice ancillary WR next to Nabers. My evaluation of him isn’t dissimilar to Dontayvion Wicks, who’s since become a quality rotational WR for the Green Bay Packers.
Interestingly, the pick with the most upside in the Giants’ class might be Xavier Nwankpa. While his technique is a work in progress, he has truly elite explosiveness, short-area malleability, and range at 6’2″, 210 pounds. He can be a true ball-hawk on the back end.
On Day 3, the Giants rounded out their class with defensive tackle and offensive line depth — both things they could use more of.
