With the first 18 picks of the 2024 NFL Draft set at the end of the regular season, many NFL fan bases are turning their attention to the NFL Draft. Mock draft season is underway, with executives and fans hoping for their next up-and-coming superstar.
This mock draft will dive into the New Orleans Saints, who will pick fourteenth (barring a trade) after narrowly losing out on the NFC South. This mock draft was constructed using the PFN Mock Draft Simulator.
New Orleans Saints 2024 NFL Draft Picks
The Saints only have five picks before any compensatory picks are announced due to aggressive trades in last year’s draft. The Saints don’t pick in the third or fourth rounds and do not own their own second-round pick. With five picks and plenty of needs, how do the Saints attack the 2024 NFL Draft?
- Round 1, Pick 14: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
- Round 2, Pick 45: T’Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas
- Round 5, Pick 143: Malik Washington, WR, Virginia
- Round 6, Pick 174: Jarrian Jones, CB, Florida State
- Round 7, Pick 204: Anim Dankwah, OT, Howard
New Orleans Saints 2024 NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 14: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
The Saints will have to make a decision about Ryan Ramczyk’s long-term future, with him contemplating retirement due to his medicals. Given their issues at both tackle spots, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Saints opt to take a solution early this year.
Amarius Mims is a freakazoid of a tackle prospect. Boasting a Herculean 6’7″, 340-pound frame, Mims has every athletic trait you could ask for. Despite just seven career starts, Mims has clean pass sets and strong, accurate hands. He needs further development before his technique matches his tools, but it is easy to see a Pro Bowl-caliber talent early in his career.
Round 2, Pick 45: T’Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas
The Saints had a repeated issue stopping the run up front in 2023, and it started along their interior.

T’Vondre Sweat is a mountain of a man at 6’4″, 362, and plays like it. Sweat boasts tremendous power and play strength and is nearly impossible to move. He can handle double-teams along the interior and shed with ease, using his length and power to get off blocks. Sweat also is an active pass rusher, making him a three-down lineman.
Round 5, Pick 143: Malik Washington, WR, Virginia
We’ll see about Michael Thomas’s future with the team. If he stays or not, the Saints should continue to invest in more weapons on offense to help create mismatches.
Virginia’s Malik Washington set the single-season ACC receiving record this season, serving as the first, second, third, and maybe even fourth and fifth options on a Virginia offense desperate for playmakers. Washington catches nearly everything that gets thrown his way and has the acceleration to win after the catch and deep.
Round 6, Pick 174: Jarrian Jones, CB, Florida State
The Saints are strong defensive back developers, getting good play out of picks and free agents alike. They could use a boost in their depth, however, especially in the slot.
Jones doesn’t look like your average slot corner at 6’0 and close to 200 pounds, but he thrived there for the Seminoles this season. Jones allowed just a 3.7 rating and just 70 yards when targeted in the slot, picked off three passes, and did not allow a single touchdown.
Round 7, Pick 204: Anim Dankwah, OT, Howard
The Saints often opt to boost their offensive line depth late in the draft. With the injuries they’ve had along their line, they’ll likely opt to do so once again this year.
You likely won’t be able to find a bigger player in this class than Howard’s Anim Dankwah. Standing at a whopping 6’8″, 375 pounds, Dankwah is a mammoth human being. Dankwah doesn’t carry that weight poorly at all though, and has great length for the position.
