New Jets QB Justin Fields Celebrates $40 Million Payday in Style While Vacationing in Dubai

The New York Jets have found their new quarterback. Former Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields has agreed to a two-year contract, stepping in as the team’s starter for 2025.

While on vacation in Dubai, Fields was spotted celebrating his new contract at a restaurant, surrounded by friends.

Justin Fields Celebrates Deal With New York Jets

After weeks of speculation, Fields signed a two-year, $40 million deal with New York. The contract guarantees Fields $30 million and gives him a chance to resurrect his career. He had remained in contact with the Steelers, who were interested in bringing him back, but Fields chose a more secure starting role in New Jersey.

New York has been a rough place for quarterbacks in recent years, with several top draft picks and veterans struggling to get the franchise moving. Fields is an intriguing mix of both. At just 26 years old, the former Bear has 44 NFL starts under his belt, most recently going 4-2 in Pittsburgh.

New Jets offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand now has his starting quarterback to build around. The former Detroit Lions passing game coordinator followed Aaron Glenn to New Jersey after Glenn was hired as the Jets’ new head coach.

Fields’ playing style is completely different from Lions quarterback Jared Goff, whom Engstrand worked with in Detroit. Fields’ mobility also sets him apart from previous Jets QB Aaron Rodgers.

The former Green Bay Packer was a far more polished passer than Fields, who still has room to grow in that area. However, Fields played alongside the team’s star receiver, Garrett Wilson, at Ohio State, so there should be some natural chemistry between them.

Not long after the news of Fields’ new deal broke, he was filmed enjoying a celebratory dinner with friends in Dubai. In the video, Fields and his group are seen chanting and recording while pirate-themed waiters dance with sparklers and champagne.

The comments on social media were a mix of predictable Jets jokes and more positive reactions. Ultimately, Fields’ success with the team rests on him and the organization.

Wilson and Breece Hall are arguably the best receiver/running back duo Fields has ever played with, but the team lacks depth beyond them. Fields’ rushing ability gives opposing defenses another threat to consider, something New York likely valued before signing him.

The Jets have struggled in recent years despite a top-tier defense and some elite skill players. Their new head coach is hoping to change that, and Glenn is betting on Fields to lead the charge.
