Stephen Curry has been on fire since the Golden State Warriors traded Andrew Wiggins for Jimmy Butler III. The Warriors have been able to string together some amazing wins since Butler’s arrival, going 14-1 with him in the starting lineup before the Warriors’ loss to a depleted Nuggets team 114-105.
Curry, who recently turned 37, is in his 16th season in the NBA. His longevity has been amazing to watch, as he recently crossed 25,000 career points and 4,000 3-pointers. This is a testament to the generational player that Curry is and how he plays the game of basketball.
The Warriors have been winning recently, but Curry has looked exhausted in the last three games, despite the Warriors going 2-1 in this stretch. As the Warriors prepare for the Milwaukee Bucks, it seems as if Curry could get rest.
Will Stephen Curry Rest Against The Milwaukee Bucks?
After a sluggish performance in the embarrassing loss to a depleted Denver Nuggets team, Curry might be granted a game off to rest up. Curry had been listed as questionable up until game time, but he did not look great this game. Curry finished with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists, but only shot 28.6% from the field and three-point range.
To make matters worse, Curry also finished with a whopping 7 turnovers, which could be the back issue that had him questionable until game time. Warriors coach Steve Kerr spoke about potential fatigue and the possibility of keeping Curry out of the next game.

“He’s tired. Steph’s been carrying us for a month, he’s been amazing, he’s tired. So we’ve got to get him some rest. You can see it. He doesn’t have his energy right now.”
When asked if Kerr could potentially rest Curry against the Bucks, Kerr was noncommittal, but it seems to be an option that the Warriors have considered.
“Potentially. I don’t know. I got to talk to Rick (Celebrini). But he’s exhausted right now, so we absolutely have to consider giving him a night and getting him rejuvenated for the sake of him and the remainder of our games.”
The Warriors are barely holding onto the sixth seed in the Western Conference following this loss, and every win matters right now. Brandin Podziemski is expected back in the lineup against the Bucks, so maybe he can provide an extra push if Curry rests.
Can The Warriors Maintain The Sixth Seed In The West?
The Warriors have an interesting schedule ahead, but they seem primed to at least finish in the top 8 of the Western Conference. Following the All-Star break, the Warriors spoke on their desire to acquire the sixth seed in the West, and they’ve accomplished that goal.
The next challenge for the Warriors will be maintaining that seed or rising above sixth. If the Warriors are able to defeat the Bucks, this would help their case tremendously. Following the Bucks game, the Warriors have one more home game before they embark on a short road trip.
Can the Warriors bounce back after this tough loss to the Nuggets? Will they be able to defeat the Bucks? Will they recapture some of the momentum they had prior to this loss? Time will tell.
