Stephen Curry reached a milestone that no NBA player has ever reached before, on March 13: hitting his 4000th three-pointer.
Curry has been with the Golden State Warriors through all of this, so it’s only fair that fans show their appreciation for the future Hall of Famer. Shortly after he achieved such a rare feat, Warriors fans gave Curry a familiar cheer.
Warriors Fans Chant ‘MVP’ at Stephen Curry
Zena Keita shared a video of Warriors fans giving Curry a standing ovation after he hit his historic shot, then followed it up by chanting “MVP” at him for quite some time after he reached the milestone.

More impressively, the game didn’t stop immediately after Curry reached the mark, showing that both he and the Warriors understood that despite making history, their primary focus was beating the Sacramento Kings, which they did pretty handily.
The best part about this is unlike some other milestones that get achieved, like Kobe Bryant scoring 60 points in his final game on an average Lakers team, Curry is doing this for a Warriors team that looks rejuvenated since they traded for Jimmy Butler.
That means achieving this milestone really goes for something in the end, and it’s not just based on Curry’s reputation as one of the best flamethrowers the NBA has ever seen. What’s most touching is that he did this in Golden State.
Changed Basketball In The NBA
Curry deserves to be showered with love by the fans because of what he’s done for them and the NBA as a whole since coming to the league in 2009. Ever since he came into his own, he’s truly been one of one. While he’s not the first player to make his floor-spacing abilities his calling card, Curry truly brought a whole new dimension to it.
In doing so, he forced other teams to adapt to his style, showing how potent he was as a scorer and how revolutionary of a player he was. Before his time, NBA teams were mocked for being reliant on shooting too many threes. Because of him, being dependent on shooting threes is now seen as a smart strategy.
That is, of course, only if teams had a star who could shoot from practically anywhere like Curry can. For all the players who have prided themselves on floor spacing, Curry truly is the one that no one could take their eyes off of for a split second, or he made them pay – 4000 times, to be precise.
