Savannah James Posts 5-Word Reaction As Bryce James’ Sierra Canyon Qualify for State Championship Game

Savannah James is a proud momma. Her children are thriving in different aspects of the sporting world at different stages.

However, Tuesday was all about LeBron James’ younger son, Bryce James. The Southern California Regional Division I final was clinched by Bryce’s Sierra Canyon against the Redondo Union.

Sierra Canyon clinched its first-ever regional title since 2020. Coincidentally, that team also had one of the Los Angeles Lakers’ sons. Bryce’s elder brother, Bronny James, also led his school to the state finals.

However, there’s one thing different this time around. Bronny was not able to compete for the State Championship as the game was suspended due to COVID-19. With no worldwide pandemic in sight, Bryce has an opportunity to win California’s highest-school basketball title.

Sierra Canyon won the game 74-68 against the Redondo Union, prompting Savannah to take to her Instagram story to celebrate. She uploaded a montage of clips from the game, including Bryce’s 3-point bucket and his vigorous celebration.

“We goin to the ship!!!” she captioned her post.

While Bryce played a backseat in the game, scoring only 3 points, his teammates made sure the team had a comfortable win. Gavin Hightower scored 25, and Maximo Adams had 22 points on the night.

Sierra Canyon’s Coach Has a Similar Reaction to Savannah

The game on Tuesday featured future stars on the hardwood floor and on the sidelines. Sierra Canyon’s head coach, Andre Chevalier, highlighted the team’s struggle to get to this point after the game.

“This year’s been a long road with lots of injuries and lots of ups and downs,” said Chevalier. “Reggie’s [Redondo’s HC Reggie Morris] an absolutely amazing coach and an even better man. He gave us a different look tonight, which I knew he would, and we had to adjust.”

The sight of Bryce getting pictures with the fans while hugging the hardware was a special one for Chevalier. “He had the love of his brother holding up the trophy with him, and that was beautiful to see,” he said.

Bryce has committed to leave for Arizona after the state finals. He will have the opportunity to suit up one last time for Canyon when they take on the Stockton Lincoln on Friday in Sacramento.
