Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ star point guard, has made nearly 4,000 3-point shots in his professional career, but one that really stands out is what he refers to as his “Golden Dagger.”
This came in the Paris Olympic Games in 2024. He had eight 3-point shots in the final. Of those eight, four came in the final three minutes of the game.
Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr Discuss ‘Golden Dagger’
In a clip posted to X previewing the Netflix documentary “Court of Gold,” which looks back at this Olympics run, Curry, along with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, discuss that moment.
The clip is 1:34 long and includes interviews with Curry and Kerr and also shows footage from their gold medal-winning performance.
Steph Curry:
“You just have a feeling when you know it's over and it's time to put the kids to sleep.”

“To have one on that stage… it uh… I got a cool picture that I have that I’ll put up in my house somewhere. You kind of got an essence of the entire arena and me just in my own world doing it and celebrating the moment so it’s cool,” Curry starts.
“Obviously the shot, I was like, dang that’s a pretty difficult shot, that was pretty cool, but then when I saw Melo [Carmelo Anthony], and his reaction when he jumped on the court and then I kind of saw the whole… like how crazy they went, like that’s when I kind of realized how special a moment that was. It was a dream come true, obviously some storybook type stuff to have it end that way,” Curry says before pausing and nodding.
“Yeah, I’ll take it. It was pretty special.”
The clip then shows the shot and we’re greeted by Kerr: “When it went in, the reaction of the crowd, of our bench, of France’s team, it was one of the greatest moments in basketball history.”
From there, a montage of social media posts from athletes and professional teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers illustrate the reaction the entire United States professional sports scene and more had to the moment.
“You gotta make sure, the worst thing that could happen is you pull the ‘night-night’ out and there’s too much time left on the clock and the other team comes back, so you just have a feeling when you know it’s over and it’s time to put the kids to sleep,” Curry says as the clip finishes.
The description of the Court of Gold documentary on Netflix reads, “Go behind the scenes with the top medal contenders in men’s basketball as they battle for gold and glory at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.”
As for Curry’s Warriors, they currently rank No. 14 in our latest NBA power rankings.
