Luka Dončić is moving on from the Dallas Mavericks, and everyone is getting a little sentimental about it, including his fiancée Anamaria Goltes, who shared her reaction to the blockbuster trade on Instagram.

For those sleeping under a rock over the past 24 hours, Dončić was sent packing to the Los Angeles Lakers in a shocking three-team trade. He’s taking his talents to Hollywood.

Dončić wrote: “Grateful for this amazing opportunity. Basketball means everything to me, and no matter where I play the game, I’ll do so with the same joy, passion and goal – to win championships.”

Luka Dončić’s Fiancée Anamaria Goltes Comments on Lakers-Mavericks Trade

Dončić shared a heartfelt message on social media where the five-time all-star poured out his emotions while thanking the city of Dallas and Mavericks fans for supporting him all these years.

Dončić’s fiancée, Goltes, quickly followed suit by posting her own two-word reaction, simply writing “Thank you” with a blue heart emoji on an Instagram story. She also posted Dončić’s message to Mavericks fans along with a Lakers’ banner introducing him to Los Angeles.

Goltes is a model and influencer who shares fashion, travel, and modeling content on her Instagram account. She is originally from Zagorje ob Savi, Slovenia.

Happy Couple Excited To Join Lakers, Live in Hollywood

Dončić proposed to Goltes on July 7, 2023, in Lake Bled, Slovenia. The couple announced the engagement using the caption “7.7,” which has a double meaning since Dončić wears No. 77. They have a daughter, Gabriela, and three dogs.

Dončić and Goltes’ relationship entered the public domain when they were quarantining together, highlighted in a 2020 New York Post interview where the latter explained how they first met.

“I answered this question like a million times,” Goltes said. “We met when we were 12 years old at the seaside in Croatia. Fun fact: We still have the same group of friends we had at that time. You keep the real ones, am I right?”

Dončić joked that Goltes doesn’t even like basketball, adding that they don’t talk about his chosen profession when they are relaxing at home.

“When I get home, it’s no basketball talk,” Doncic said via the New York Post. “She don’t like basketball, but she goes to every game. I mean, she likes it now, but she didn’t like it, which is good for me. I really like that.”

3-Team Blockbuster Trade Completed

The trade sending Dončić was a three-team deal, which included the Utah Jazz, Lakers, and the Mavericks.

Here are the full terms of the completed trade:

  • The Lakers received Dončić, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris from the Mavericks; Dallas acquired Davis, Max Christie, and the Lakers’ 2029 first-round pick.
  • The Jazz received Jalen Hood-Schifino, the Los Angeles Clippers’ 2025 second-round pick, and the Mavericks’ 2025 second-round selection.

Dončić is recovering from a strained calf muscle that has kept him out of the lineup since Christmas Day. The Lakers are hoping to see him on the court before the NBA All-Star break, but no definitive timeline for his debut has been given.
