LeBron James has been in the NBA for 22 years, but even he is shocked by the Los Angeles Lakers’ upcoming schedule in March.
The Lakers are set to play six games in eight days, including two games against the Denver Nuggets, who have eliminated LA in the playoffs the past two seasons. James isn’t a fan of this busy schedule, as he and the Lakers are fighting for playoff positioning in the Western Conference.
LeBron James Reacts to Lakers’ ‘Insane’ March NBA Schedule
The Lakers are currently sitting fourth in the Western Conference with a 34-21 record. While they are only two games behind the Nuggets for the No. 3 seed and 2.5 behind the Memphis Grizzlies at No. 2, Los Angeles needs to navigate an intense schedule in March, which includes three consecutive back-to-back pair of games.
The Lakers will start the stretch against the Milwaukee Bucks on March 13 before traveling to Denver for another game on the following day. They will then host the Phoenix Suns on March 16, followed by the San Antonio Spurs on the 17th. Two more games against the Nuggets and the Bucks will follow on March 19 and 20, respectively.
James isn’t comfortable with this schedule and made his feelings known in an Instagram story on Friday, Feb. 21.
“This is insane!!!!,” he wrote

James has been “dealing with ankle and foot discomfort,” which kept him out of the NBA All-Star Game. With the Lakers needing to win nearly all of their games, it remains to be seen whether he will line up for the entire stretch. But without James, it would be an uphill battle for LA.
However, playing him might not be an easy decision. The Lakers have no real leader with James sidelined. They still need him on the court and playing at a high level in order to find success. Nonetheless, urging star players on a team to avoid injury management and risk their health is unfair.
Nevertheless, the Lakers faithful will hope he’s healthy by the time the “insane” stretch kicks off in March. If James manages to play all six games, Lakers fans will be confident of coming out triumphant as the 40-year-old shows no signs of slowing down.
James is averaging 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game on 51.8% field-goal percentage and 39.5% from behind the 3-point line. He’s fresh off a 25-point game against the Nuggets, which ended Denver’s nine-game win streak.
