The Phoenix Suns have been a disaster for months. The team has cratered since beginning the 2024-2025 season on a heater, with injuries and inconsistent play landing them outside the NBA Play-In. Around the trade deadline, however, the situation became even worse.
With reports and scenarios emerging almost daily, it was a pleasant sight for Suns fans to see their superstar bonding with their rookie at a Chicago White Sox game.
Kevin Durant Joins Suns Rookie To Watch His Brother on the White Sox
Coming off what many people called a season-saving win against the Los Angeles Clippers, the mood in Phoenix has to be better than it has been in months. Down 19 going into the fourth quarter, the Suns rallied back to eke out a 119-117 win.
While it keeps them alive for the 10th seed, they are still far from making a significant push. Meanwhile, rookie Ryan Dunn spent some quality time with veteran Durant, checking in for a White Sox game featuring his brother, pitcher Justin Dunn.
While Ryan Dunn is still establishing a role, Justin Dunn has bounced around from team to team before landing a role with Chicago this offseason.

During the trade deadline, the situation went from bad to worse for Phoenix. With management looking to break their big three, a trade sending the former MVP to the Golden State Warriors was on the table. However, Durant himself nixed it, outright vetoing the move.
Since then, an already bad situation has somehow gotten worse with the team struggling to string together quality games. Before the comeback win over LA, the team had won just three games in its previous 14 outings.
Reports of locker room divide and altercations between head coach Mike Budenholzer and both Durant and Devin Booker had made the news. It is unlikely that one emotionally charged victory fixes all their flaws.
But, the bond growing between Dunn and the 37-year-old is a positive sign nonetheless. The game against the Denver Nuggets on March 7 should serve as the perfect litmus test for this group. And it could very well decide the future of Kevin Durant in The Valley.
