Karl-Anthony Towns Status Update: Knicks Star Returns After Girlfriend Jordyn Woods Drops Major Health Scare on X

Karl-Anthony Towns is having one of the best seasons of his career—his first with the New York Knicks. He has been posting career-high numbers but missed the game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday for personal reasons.

Then came a concerning tweet from his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, which seemed to put everything else on hold. However, according to the latest insider update, Towns is set to return for the Knicks’ March 6 game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Karl-Anthony Towns Expected To Play Against Los Angeles Lakers

While Towns’ absence from the Warriors game was listed as personal, fans were alarmed when Woods posted a message on X.

    “F*** cancer,” she wrote.

The tweet sparked concern among Knicks fans, as Towns has been a major part of the team’s success this season. While it wasn’t clear who the message referred to, speculation quickly spread, and fans sent messages of support to the couple.

“Sending prayers to Jordyn Woods & Karl-Anthony Towns. Take all the time you need, cancer needs to be cured.”

However, Knicks fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Towns was not listed on the team’s latest injury report, which also includes Mitchell Robinson, who’s listed as questionable. Additionally, New York Post’s Stefan Bondy and SNY’s Ian Begley have reported that Towns will be available for the Lakers game.

“Karl-Anthony Towns will be available tomorrow vs LAL, per league sources. He is not on the injury report after missing Tuesday’s game due to personal reasons,” Begley wrote.

Since arriving in New York last summer, Towns has been averaging 24.5 points per game, his highest since the 2021-22 season, while shooting over 53% from the field and 42% from 3-point range. He is also averaging a career-high 13.4 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 3.1 assists per game in his first season with the Knicks.

Towns’ arrival in New York via trade brought excitement to Knicks fans and hope that the team could be a contender. So far, the Knicks have more than lived up to expectations, sitting third in the Eastern Conference with a 40-21 record.

With fewer than five weeks left in the regular season, the Knicks are on track for a playoff spot. But if they hope to make a deep run, they’ll need Towns to be at his best.
