Jayson Tatum’s son, Deuce Tatum, trolled his dad in front of Celtic legend and NBA Hall Of Famer Kevin Garnett. During a moment with Garnett, following the 2025 Slam Dunk Contest at the 2025 All-Star Weekend, the son of the All-Star unknowingly threw a slight jab at his father.

“My daddy couldn’t do any of those dunks,” Deuce told Garnett, referencing some of the Dunks in his career. Garnet would reply, saying, “He couldn’t do any of those dunks?”
“No,” he enthusiastically responded. Tatum, shocked by Duece’s response, jokingly reacted to the comments made by his son. “Why you hating,” Tatum said.

While Tatum may not be an elite dunker like Mac McClung, who is a three-time Slam Dunk Contest winner, there’s no denying his status as an elite player.
At 26 years old, he’s already built an impressive resume, winning a championship and a gold medal over the summer. Tatum has proved time and time again to be one of the league’s top players.
Int he meantime, Garnett has continuously been impressed by the Celtics, heaping praise on the All-Star.
“The first thing you do when you get in the league, you’ve got this list of stuff you want to become: All-Star and all this other stuff you want to become,” Garnett said on his Podcast KG Certified.
“Then, as you get to No. 3, it starts to become MVP and sh*t you’ve really got to go to another level. Guess what else is on there? Winning a championship. He’s 26, and he can cross that off. There’s a bunch of stuff he’s crossed off this list.”
Tatum and the Celtics are eying another championship after hoisting banner No. 18 last season. They are currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference, at 46-18 they remain a top team in the league.
There’s no doubt that he will go down as a Celtics all-time great when it’s all said and done.
