Pennzoil 400 Qualifying Order: NASCAR Rivals Christopher Bell, William Byron Set for Intense Pole Battle in Las Vegas

On Friday, March 14, the unusually dynamic Las Vegas weather produced one of the most enthralling NASCAR Truck Series races, with Corey Heim holding off Grant Enfinger for his 13th Series victory.

Now, the action is slowly shifting to the much-awaited NASCAR Cup Series, as Christopher Bell and William Byron prepare for an intense battle for pole on Saturday afternoon.

Despite Bell’s impressive three-race win streak, Byron has been the more dominant qualifier, securing the only pole position between the two this season. That puts the spotlight on Bell, who hopes to grab his first pole of the year and move one step closer to becoming just the ninth driver ever to record four straight NASCAR Cup Series wins.

Qualifying for the Pennzoil 400 kicks off at 2:40 p.m. local time (4:40 p.m. ET) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Riley Herbst joins Group 1 with the highest metric score of 34.300, followed by Justin Haley, Brad Keselowski, Cole Custer, and Carson Hocevar rounding off the top five.

Group 1 also features drivers like Bubba Wallace, Daniel Suárez, Ty Gibbs, and Ryan Blaney. Meanwhile, Group 2 includes Bell, Byron, and Denny Hamlin—each carrying a metric score below 5.000—as they look to lock in a prime starting position.

From Herbst to Bell, here’s the qualifying order for the 36 cars as they battle for a potentially rewarding pole position in Las Vegas.
