Big changes are coming for NASCAR fans as two of the sport’s biggest radio networks, Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Speedway Motorsports’ Performance Racing Network (PRN), have teamed up to launch the NASCAR Racing Network (NRN). This new partnership will provide expanded coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, bringing fresh voices and broader accessibility to fans across the country.
Traditionally, MRN and PRN cover different race tracks — MRN handles events at NASCAR-owned tracks and the complete truck series, whereas PRN covers Cup and Xfinity races held at Speedway Motorsports venues. Now, with their combined efforts under the NRN banner, fans can expect seamless and exciting race broadcasts all season long for the craftsman truck series.
NASCAR Racing Network: A Game-Changing Partnership
The NRN kicked off this season with the Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway, which Corey Heim won. With this new collaboration, listeners can expect top-tier commentary, expert insights, and a fresh take on truck series racing.
Chris Schwartz, President of MRN, highlighted the significance of this merger: “Working side by side, MRN and PRN have built one of the largest radio networks in sports, delivering the excitement of NASCAR racing to hundreds of thousands of race fans coast to coast. The NASCAR Racing Network builds on each other’s strengths and creates a new path for us to elevate the NASCAR Radio landscape for fans and stakeholders of the sport.”
PRN’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Gerry Horn, mentioned something similar, stating, “Longtime fans of the Craftsman Truck Series may notice new voices but will hear the same great coverage they have come to expect over the years. We are thrilled to formalize a partnership that will strengthen both networks allowing us to continue providing award-winning NASCAR coverage to fans nationwide.”
What Fans Can Expect
Listeners will enjoy expanded access to live race broadcasts, expert analysis, and behind-the-scenes stories with NRN now covering the Truck Series.
The next race on NRN’s schedule is the Fr8 208 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1:30 p.m. ET. As the season unfolds, NRN aims to become the ultimate destination for NASCAR Truck Series radio coverage, bringing the sport’s high-speed excitement straight to fans’ ears.
With this new collaboration, NASCAR’s radio coverage enters a thrilling new era, ensuring that every lap, crash, and victory is heard loud and clear.
