‘Would I Be Intimidated?’ NASCAR Icon Danica Patrick Reveals Racing Legends She Wishes To Race Against

From IndyCar to NASCAR, Danica Patrick has taken on some of the toughest challenges in motorsports. She was the first female driver to win an IndyCar race and the first woman to earn a Daytona 500 pole. However, Patrick never found Victory Lane in NASCAR.

That hasn’t stopped her from dreaming big. From NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. to Formula One icon Ayrton Senna, the Wisconsin native says she would love to face them all in her dream race—with one special passenger riding along.

Danica Patrick Reveals Her Dream Race

Patrick recently shared her ultimate race lineup during an appearance on the OutKick the Coverage podcast. She didn’t hold back, adding her spiritual side to the mix by naming Jesus as her “homie” and ideal co-pilot.

First up, Patrick picked Senna, the legendary F1 driver for McLaren, to see how she’d stack up against one of the sport’s greatest.

Next, she wanted to “door bang” with Earnhardt Sr., famously known as The Intimidator. Patrick, who once drove for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s team, said she would love to race against the seven-time NASCAR Cup champion just to see what it felt like.

“Would I be intimidated?” she asked, wondering how she’d handle taking on one of the most feared drivers in NASCAR history. She added, “I have a real mean streak in me at times,” which makes the matchup even more interesting.

Finally, Patrick said she would want Jesus riding shotgun. In her spiritual practice, Jesus feels like a “homie” and a “best friend” who’s always been on her level with nothing but love. That connection, she explained, is why he’d be right there in the car with her.

Patrick’s connection to spirituality isn’t new. In a 2022 interview with chef Serena Poon, Patrick opened up about her decade-long journey of spiritual awakening.

She explained that she’s become deeply connected to spiritual practices—something she believes science hasn’t fully proven but she feels strongly about.

In 2024, Patrick doubled down on those beliefs by hosting Kimberly Snyder, author of “The Hidden Power of the Five Hearts,” on her podcast. The book, which interprets ancient Vedic science for the modern world, reflected Patrick’s growing interest in spirituality.

With that in mind, it makes perfect sense why Patrick would want Jesus riding shotgun in her dream race alongside two of motorsports’ most iconic legends.
