NASCAR fans are fed up with FOX Sports’ race coverage, and they’re making their frustrations known on social media. Viewers have slammed FOX for poor camera angles and missing key moments during NASCAR Cup Series races, including last weekend’s event in Phoenix.
Fans took to social media to criticize FOX’s failure to capture critical aspects of the race, saying the network focused too much on crowd shots instead of the action on the track. During the Phoenix race, FOX’s broadcast team missed a major wreck due to a lack of synchronization between the announcers and camera operators.
Fans Demand Improvements in FOX’s NASCAR Coverage
Viewers voiced their frustrations on X, with many calling for FOX to replace the director in charge of NASCAR broadcasts this season.
One fan was particularly annoyed by FOX’s decision to show the crowd before a restart instead of focusing on the cars.
“The crowd shot just before a restart is ridiculous. Lots of other time. Settle on your best angle to show restart @NASCARONFOX,” one fan wrote.
Another fan didn’t hold back, saying, “Welcome to the NASCAR treatment. Been with FOX since 2001, and it has gotten worse ever since.”
Some worried that FOX’s declining NASCAR coverage could affect other motorsports.
“I hope FOX doesn’t do to IndyCar what it’s done to NASCAR, as those broadcasts are awful,” one fan wrote.
Others outright questioned FOX’s commitment to the sport.
“FOX doesn’t really care about NASCAR anymore,” one fan bluntly stated.
Some fans pointed to more specific issues with FOX’s coverage, including inaccuracies in tracking position changes after pit stops.
“I can forgive a lot of the FOX broadcast complaints, but the +/- position delta after pit stops being wrong almost every time I spot-check them is unacceptable,” another fan wrote.
After repeated frustrations, some fans are ready to give up on FOX’s NASCAR coverage entirely.
“I don’t get it anymore. I give up, and I’m sick of all of it with FOX. The CW gives me more excitement each week,” one fan said.
With fans growing increasingly vocal, FOX Sports may have to address its coverage issues before losing more of its NASCAR audience.
