NASCAR fans were left furious after Fox’s coverage of the Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with many calling it one of the worst broadcasts in recent memory. The network has been heavily criticized for excessive commercial breaks, missing crucial race moments, and technical difficulties that made it frustrating to watch.
This comes just days after Fox’s heavily criticized Daytona 500 coverage, raising serious concerns about the quality of NASCAR’s television broadcasts.
Fox’s Massive Blunder at the Ambetter Health 400
One of the biggest complaints from fans was the overwhelming number of commercial breaks. Viewers felt they were watching more ads than actual racing, with key moments happening off-screen.
Many took to social media to vent their frustration, with one fan saying, “The amount of commercials on this @NASCARONFOX broadcast is absolutely absurd. Tell me what I have to pay to go commercial-free because this viewing experience is unbearable.”
Adding to the frustration, Fox repeatedly failed to capture important race-defining moments. Several crashes were either missed entirely or shown only through replays long after they happened.
Fox missing a crash because it was in the middle of a sponsored segment is the perfect summation of how awful its NASCAR coverage has become.

“Fox missing a crash because it was in the middle of a sponsored segment is the perfect summation of how awful its NASCAR coverage has become,” said a frustrated fan.
At times, instead of showing live racing action, the broadcast focused on unrelated pre-recorded clips or segments that fans found unnecessary. Some viewers even noticed that the audio and video were out of sync at times, making it hard to follow the race and important discussions.

Fox’s Technical Issues and Poor Production Choices
Beyond missing key moments, Fox’s technical execution was also heavily criticized. The feed frequently froze ruining the live experience. Another sore point for fans was Fox’s over-the-top driver graphics, which many felt were unnecessary and made the drivers look ridiculous.
An angered fan mentioned, “@NASCARONFOX has been STRUGGLING with this broadcast! Multiple video’s not matching what they’re talking about, constant freezing of the frame, they insist on making the drivers look ridiculous in their graphics.”
With two back-to-back weekends of poor coverage, fans are calling for change. Many believe NASCAR needs to reconsider its TV deal and push for better broadcasts that truly capture the excitement of the sport.
If Fox doesn’t improve soon, they risk losing the trust of loyal NASCAR fans who just want to enjoy a good race without unnecessary interruptions.
