$6,000,000,000 Worth LA Dodgers, Chelsea Owners Make Major Move To Consolidate NASCAR, Cadillac F1 Investments

TWG Global is a holding company that has some marquee sports teams on its list of assets. The owners of MLB giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and English Premier League powerhouse Chelsea also own Cadillac F1 and Spire Motorsports. To streamline its motorsports assets, TWG Global has launched a new motorsports division.

    What Is TWG Motorsport?

TWG Global says it created the new division “to bring together a portfolio of leading motorsports organizations to drive competitive excellence, ingenuity, and commercial innovation across the globe, with the aim of challenging at the very top of the sport.”

In late 2024, Mark Walter and Thomas Tull, co-chairs of TWG Global, founded TWG Motorsports. The division launched with five high-profile motorsport teams. The centerpiece of its portfolio is the Cadillac Formula 1 Team, which is gearing up for a 2026 debut.

As co-chair and CEO of Guggenheim Partners, Walter plays a major role in multiple sports franchises, including the Dodgers, who secured World Series titles in 2020 and 2024 under his leadership. Walter also plays a major role in the Chelsea Football Club through BlueCo. With TWG Motorsports now in the mix, Walter will look to expand his influence in the sporting world even more.

Andretti Global is also part of TWG’s racing division. The team remains active in IndyCar, Indy NXT, and Formula E — though former CEO Michael Andretti is no longer a part of the project.

Spire Motorsports (NASCAR Cup and Truck Series), Wayne Taylor Racing (IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship), and Walkinshaw Andretti United (Repco Supercars Championship) round out TWG Motorsports’ current team roster.

Dan Towriss, a longtime associate of Walter, will take the helm as CEO of TWG Motorsports.

“With a combination of operational excellence, technology and innovation, TWG Motorsports has the opportunity to drive true transformation in racing, set new standards for the industry and build a legacy of success across the globe,’’ Towriss revealed.

“Dan has been instrumental in forming the landmark Cadillac Formula 1 team in partnership with General Motors and acquiring for TWG Global a broad racing portfolio that includes Andretti Global, Wayne Taylor Racing, and Spire Motorsports,” Walter said to explain his CEO pick.

“We’re excited to see these teams united under the TWG Motorsports umbrella and Dan’s leadership,’’ TWG Motorsports co-chairman Tull added.
