Kyle Larson Aims To End Christopher Bell’s Winning Streak Before It Gets ‘Annoying’

Heading into the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Christopher Bell is hoping to become the first driver in the Next Gen era to win four consecutive races. A driver sharing the feeling of winning three consecutive races, Kyle Larson knows just how good Bell must be feeling right now.

Larson even knows the feeling of winning three races in a row, having achieved the feat twice during his championship season in 2021. Now that his Joe Gibbs Racing rival stands on the precipice of history, Larson wants to end Bell’s run before it gets “annoying.”

Kyle Larson Wants To End Christopher Bell’s Winning Streak

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the race in Las Vegas, the Hendrick Motorsports driver addressed the need for Bell to be stopped amid a spectacular run. The Elk Grove native recalled his 2021 season, which secured a four-peat if you include the All-Star Race.

Thus, having lived through the feeling, Larson claimed he was able to respect Bell’s achievements “a lot more.” He added that seeing somebody else have “success like that” did not bother him much.

However, the HMS driver offered a smile and added to his words by saying, “If he (Bell) wins this weekend, maybe it’s like, ‘Alright, this is getting annoying.'”

Given how tough racing has become in 2025, particularly because the Next Gen cars are so evenly matched, Larson still thinks it is “neat” for Bell to have achieved what he did.

Given his history on the circuit, Bell’s Pennzoil 400 could be his biggest challenge of 2025. The JGR driver has never been able to win at Vegas in the Cup Series despite being one of the most dominant drivers in the latest era.

Since 2022, he has led 248 laps and has secured three pole positions, asserting his dominion over the rest of the grid.

On Sunday, Bell will start the race from P13, while Larson will be three places ahead of him at the 1.5-mile quad-oval Circuit in Nevada. Starting ahead of Bell, Larson will be keeping a keen eye on the JGR No. 20 car closing in on him while also hoping to secure his first win of the season.

Racing at the season’s first intermediate track, Larson will have another advantage in the form of his last success in Vegas. Before joining HMS in 2021, he won the “Diamond in the Desert” three times.

So far, Larson has two third-place finishes to his name during the 2025 season, but a race win continues to elude him after a series-high six wins in 2024.
