COTA Race Winner Christopher Bell Makes Feelings Clear on 2025 NASCAR Championship Goals

Christopher Bell won one of the most sensational races of the year at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday night. The freshly crowned EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix champion talked about his 2025 NASCAR Championship goals after crossing the finish line.

Christopher Bell Eager To Fulfill Expectations in 2025

Bell’s championship dreams crashed in 2022 and 2023, with last season’s near-miss leaving a bitter taste in his mouth. But the sting of those defeats has only fueled his resolve. Determined to rewrite the script, Bell has already banked 10 crucial playoff points with 33 races still ahead before the battle for Phoenix truly begins.

He secured back-to-back victories for the first time in his NASCAR Cup Series career and recorded multiple wins for the fourth consecutive season. Bell also did better this year at COTA than last season’s runner-up finish.

Bell and his team have eight months to achieve what they’ve never accomplished before.

“The last two weeks at Atlanta and here, I kind of won without the fastest car, so it’s really nice to get those back that I lost last year,” Bell told NASCAR.com after his EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix win.

“I’m excited about what’s to come. We have high expectations and high hopes and goals for this year. Frankly, the last couple of years being at Joe Gibbs Racing in this No. 20 car, I haven’t been living up to the standards that I hold for myself.

“Our goal going into 2025 is to do that, or my goal is to do that for myself. I know, Adam Stevens, he feels the same way. He feels that we’re capable of a lot of great things. We haven’t done that yet in the Cup Series season. Maybe 2025 will be the year.”

With Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Homestead on the horizon — races where Bell has a proven track record — he could gain momentum for a championship run in coming weeks. A four-to-six win campaign, like those seen from Kyle Larson and William Byron at Hendrick Motorsports in recent years, suddenly feels well within reach.

Bell has demonstrated remarkable speed and a knack for delivering in high-pressure moments on key playoff tracks. This could be a main ingredient to the No. 20 team’s success in their pursuit of the Bill France Cup.

“It’s amazing to be sitting here with more importantly than two wins, 10 playoff bonus points. We’re in a pretty good spot right now, and hopefully, we can go into race tracks that are really good for us,” Bell continued. “With Phoenix being the championship event and Vegas being in the Round of 8, they’re two race tracks where you have to be good at if you are going to compete for a championship. Everyone knows that.

“Everyone is going to be bringing their best stuff trying to see where they stack up and taking notes, taking notes for how it goes and how to be better in the fall.”
