The NASCAR Truck Series raced in uncharacteristically cold weather in Las Vegas, with officials bringing out the caution twice for inclement conditions. Unpredictable weather is starting to look like Las Vegas’ calling card when it comes to motorsports competition.
Stages 1 and 2 were both affected by cautions, with the second caution leading to a red-flag stoppage. Fans were frustrated by the delays and took to X to voice their complaints.
Frustrated NASCAR Fans React to an Obstructed Race in Las Vegas
Unusual weather disrupting NASCAR in Las Vegas is ironically becoming the city’s signature. This year, heavy rain hit the desert region, bringing out two cautions.
With Jeff Gluck updating on X that the race had been red-flagged for rain, one fan sarcastically commented, “Just another NASCAR season.”
Clearly, frustrations over the weather-induced issues are starting to mount, and fans are venting that anger.
Just another NASCAR season.

Meanwhile, some fans opted to switch to F1 and watch its Free Practice session amid a disappointing outing in Vegas.
NASCAR won’t be happy to see it’s losing fans to a competitor amidst the struggle to manage Las Vegas’ less-than-ideal conditions.

The first caution in Vegas came out just before the end of Stage 1. With yellow flags waving on Lap 26, Stage 1 ended under caution, with Ty Majeski winning the stage.
When Stage 2 ended, officials red-flagged the race, stopping it completely. At that point, it seemed like the race might not resume.
However, racing eventually resumed, with Stage 2 winner Tyler Ankrum leading the field.
A lightning-fast pit stop under caution on Lap 86 put Corey Heim in the lead, and it was up to the No. 11 driver to finish the job.
Battling Layne Riggs for most of the final stage, Heim took the lead for good after the final caution on Lap 101.
From there, it was smooth sailing. Heim led a race-high 42 of 134 laps, holding off Grant Enfinger in the closing stages to take the checkered flag.
The victory marked Heim’s second win of the season and 13th overall. While he credited his team for the performance, luck and weather also played a role.
With red-flag periods lasting over 55 minutes and 19 minutes, respectively, it looked like Ankrum might be declared the winner after Stage 2.
Luckily for Heim, the race continued and he was able to pull out the victory. He’ll look to build on that success, and that luck, going forward.
