Monday Night Football tonight is back with a good NFC matchup with several playoff implications at stake. The 6-7 Seattle Seahawks will host the 10-3 Philadelphia Eagles with both desperately needing a win for vastly different reasons.
Both teams come into the game banged up and have availability concerns at the most important position. But as Week 15 wraps up, teams that are in the position that these two find themselves in need to find a way to overcome and prosper when adversity strikes.
Monday Night Football Tonight
- Teams: Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- Location: Lumen Field, Seattle, Washington
The Eagles travel across the country to take on a Seahawks team that is fighting for their playoff lives. But while the Eagles on paper look like a superior team, the team from Philly comes into the game fresh off of two back-to-back embarrassing losses.
Additionally, starting quarterback Jalen Hurts is dealing with an illness that has his availability in doubt. It could be a perfect storm for this Eagles team that needs a win to keep pace with the 49ers for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “Eagles are downgrading QB Jalen Hurts to questionable for Monday night’s game in Seattle after his sickness worsened overnight, per a source.
“Hurts still is harboring hopes of playing Monday night, and is traveling to Seattle separately from the team so as to try not get anyone else sick.”
As for the Seahawks, they too have a situation at quarterback. Geno Smith already missed Seattle’s Week 14 matchup against San Francisco and is listed as questionable for this week’s matchup as well.

Despite the questionable designation, the feeling around Smith’s availability seems to be weening, and the word around the team is that we could see backup Drew Lock under center for this one.
It’s not an ideal situation for the Seahawks who are fighting for their playoff lives. A loss on Monday night may be the final straw for their chances.
