    Joe Buck, Play-by-Play Announcer

Joe Buck, one of the most recognizable voices in sports, serves as the play-by-play announcer for Monday Night Football. Buck brings a wealth of experience to the booth, having covered major events like the Super Bowl, World Series, and other marquee sports moments.

He is known for his ability to narrate the game with a calm yet engaging style, ensuring that fans stay informed and entertained throughout the action. His presence in the MNF booth continues to be a highlight for viewers who expect top-tier broadcasting.

Ahead of the 2024 NFL season, Buck sat down with Disney to talk about what makes Monday Night Football so special.

MORE: Did Joe Buck Ever Play in the NFL?

“It is a stand-alone night. Not only is there a significant audience of fans, but everyone in the league is watching too. Add to that the history of the franchise and, for me that my dad called Monday Night Football on radio, it is special. When that theme song hits, even going into year three, I still get chills.”

Buck was also asked about his longtime career as an announcer and how the game — and its fans — have changed over the years.

“The casual fan is much more educated because of fantasy football and the amount of information available. When I started in 1994, we were breaking news, providing updates on players’ seasons throughout the broadcast. Now that happens continuously on people’s phones. It is delivered right to them, every day. So, as a broadcaster you need to bring something new to the viewer.

One area where we can is that we talk to the players and have access, so bringing that to the people at home is important. Oh, and social media too — that can keep you honest and drive you nuts.”

    Troy Aikman, Color Commentator

Partnering with Buck is former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman. Aikman’s Hall of Fame playing career began in 1989 when the Cowboys selected him with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. His 12 years in the league were highlighted by victories in Super Bowls XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX.

While leading one of the NFL’s most famous franchises, the Cowboys won six NFC East titles (1992-96 & 1998) and advanced to four NFC Championship Games (1992-95). Aikman is one of only four quarterbacks to guide his team to victory in three Super Bowls (XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX).

Now in television, Aikman provides in-depth analysis, offering insight from a player’s perspective that helps viewers understand the intricacies of each play. Aikman’s chemistry with Buck, built from their long tenure working together on FOX Sports, makes them a trusted duo for NFL fans.

While celebrating becoming the longest running broadcasting duo in history, Aikman touched on how important Monday Night Football is to him.

“The fact that I’m still doing it 23 years later is shocking to me, but I think there’s a lot of good fortune and luck that goes into that,” Aikman said. “There’s some other great broadcast teams that, for various reasons that had nothing to do with themselves, weren’t able to continue. So the fact that even recently ESPN regarded our work that they wanted both of us just means a lot.”

    Lisa Salters, Sideline Reporter

No broadcast would be complete without on-the-field updates, and that’s where Lisa Salters shines. As the sideline reporter, Salters delivers real-time insights, injury updates, and interviews that add another layer to the viewing experience. With over a decade of experience in this role, she has become a staple on MNF, known for her professionalism and the ability to get the inside scoop during games.

Salters has made regular appearances during the NBA season for ESPN as well, working as a sideline reporter during the regular season, including the NBA on ABC. She’s also a consultant for the in-depth ESPN news show “E:60” while also appearing on “Outside the Lines.”
