MLB Analyst Predicts This Surprise, Dark Horse Team Wins the World Series in Dominant Fashion

Every MLB season, a few breakout teams have surprisingly successful seasons. One team that had a great offseason and could be in for a monster year is the Boston Red Sox. They acquired pitcher Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox and signed All-Star infielder Alex Bregman. Boston seems poised to end their postseason drought, but how far can they go?

MLB Analyst Predicts Boston Red Sox Win the World Series

We have not seen the Boston Red Sox in the postseason since the 2021 season when they lost in the ALCS. However, Frank Ammirante of PFSN sees the Red Sox as a World Series team.

“The Red Sox had the best offseason in the American League,” Ammirante said. “Let’s start with the rotation. Boston acquired the next Chris Sale in Garrett Crochet. … Then you add in a bounce-back candidate in Walker Buehler — who looked better in the playoffs last year — to a group that includes Tanner Houck, Brayan Bello, and Lucas Giolito.”

He also mentioned the addition of Bregman and the two top prospects who could make a significant impact this year, Roman Anthony and Kristian Campbell. The Red Sox are undoubtedly one of the most improved teams in baseball and should be contenders for the AL pennant.

This is the type of offseason the Red Sox needed to get back into contention. Over the past few seasons, they have been quiet on the player acquisition front, which has cost them. Baseball is better when the Red Sox are good, as they are one of the biggest draws in the sport. We should see another great year of the Red Sox/New York Yankees rivalry, which many view as the best in the game.

    Navigating the AL Gauntlet

The American League should be as strong as it has been in recent years in 2025. You could argue that each division has at least three teams that can compete for playoff berths.

In the AL East, it is the Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, and Red Sox. The AL Central has the Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Guardians, and Detroit Tigers. The AL West has the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, and Houston Astros. With only six playoff spots up for grabs, it will be intriguing to see which teams prevail.

Like most seasons, it is a battle of attrition to see who will emerge on top. Whichever team stays the healthiest will likely have the best chance of making the playoffs and making a deep run. Do not be surprised if Boston is the dark horse team that makes it to the Fall Classic.
