This year, they are again right in the thick of the playoff hunt with 14 wins, despite everyone counting them out with Darnold leading them. Here’s everything you need to know about the team and its history in the playoffs.

What Is the Vikings’ Playoff Win/Loss Record?

Since they first formed into a franchise, the Vikings hold a 21-32 record in the playoffs. During their time in the modern NFL, post-merger, they have a 19-31 record in the playoffs.

How Many Times Have the Vikings Been to the Playoffs?

Since joining the league in 1961, the Vikings have made it to the playoffs 31 times. They’ve made an even more impressive 30 appearances since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970.

How Many Super Bowl Appearances Do the Vikings Have?

The Vikings have had some long runs into the playoffs. On three separate occasions, the team made it to the Super Bowl.

How Many Super Bowls Have the Vikings Won?

Unfortunately, success at the highest level still eludes the Vikings. Despite their three Super Bowl appearances, they failed to earn victory in any of them, losing by a minimum of 10 each time.

When Was the Last Time the Vikings Made the Super Bowl?

Minnesota last went to a Super Bowl almost 50 years ago. In 1976, led by Rookie of the Year Sammy White and All-Pro Chuck Foreman, they made it to Super Bowl 11, their third Super Bowl appearance in four seasons, but lost in humiliating fashion to the Raiders 32-14.

The closest Minnesota has come since was in 1998. With a 15-1 record, the Vikings were a heavy favorite to finally make a Super Bowl after more than two decades.

However, kicker Gary Anderson missed a makeable 39-yard field goal in regulation after going a perfect 35 for 35 on the season, eventually leading to an overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

As a result, that Vikings team became the first team in NFL history to go 15-1 without making the Super Bowl.
