ESPN’s Mina Kimes Tears Down Bengals for Wasting Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase in Historically Unprecedented Season

    Published on

ESPN's Mina Kimes sounds off on the Bengals after wasting historic seasons from Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase with a dismal defense in 2024.

Joe Burrow has been close to perfect this season. His partnership with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been deadly for the opposition.

Despite that, the Cincinnati Bengals find themselves in a last-ditch effort to get a playoff berth. ESPN’s reporter put the Bengals’ front office on notice for not helping their star players out.

Mina Kimes Takes a Shot at the Bengals for Wasting Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase’s Season

Kimes appeared on DraftKings Network’s “GoJo and Golic” show. When asked to name the team that has been the biggest letdown this season, she didn’t hesitate to state the Bengals. She also pointed out that despite underperforming, they have received little flak from fans and media alike.

“If they were the Jets or something, there would be a bigger outcry over this season from Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase being wasted on offense,” she said. “I believe it’s close to historically unprecedented, right? Like what they are doing respective to the team’s win record.”

“But throw out the stats when you watch every week. It is jarring to me, the ways in which this defense has let them down… I really feel like the front office deserves so much more heat for that than they’ve been getting because it’s been such an unbelievable letdown this year.”

Burrow Has Fans Amongst Other Teams as Well

With 4,229 yards and 39 touchdowns, Burrow sits at the top of the pile in this year’s QB stats. Hence, it should not come as a surprise that Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons considers him the best shot-caller out there.

“This version of Joe Burrow is the best quarterback in the NFL,” Parsons said on his podcast. “This healthy Joe Burrow, the anticipation, his IQ. … If you talk about who’s playing the best quarterback football right now, Joe Shiesty. He’s the best quarterback in the NFL.”

Burrow will face the Denver Broncos in the Week 17 game to keep Cincy’s playoff hopes alive. This knockout matchup will occur on Saturday, Dec. 28, with kickoff scheduled at 4:30 p.m. ET.
