Pro Football Network (PFN) and Mike Tanier have agreed to contract terms, effective September 1, 2020. Tanier will publish his Monday NFL Recap along with other columns each week exclusively on PFN.
“We have always had a tremendous amount of respect for Mike and all that he has accomplished in this industry. And so, when we learned that Mike would be available, we didn’t waste any time reaching out to him,” said Matthew Cannata, PFN Founder and CEO. “Mike’s relentless drive paired with his gift of writing and vast knowledge of the football landscape was a perfect match for us.”
Tanier has been covering the NFL and college football for over 15 years. He has previously written for companies such as The New York Times, Sports on Earth and Football Outsiders. He is currently the NFL National Lead Writer at Bleacher Report. While best known for his in-depth Monday morning recaps and his NFL game previews, he is also the author of the young adult novel Long Snapper’s Blues and a co-author of the annual Football Outsiders Almanac.
“I’m thrilled that my Monday morning column has found a new home,” said Tanier. “After having multiple conversations with Matt and others in the PFN Ownership Group, it was clear that we share the same visions and goals. I’m looking forward to helping the PFN brand grow. I want to make Pro Football Network every fan’s first stop, whether it’s on Monday morning, throughout the week or the middle of the offseason.”
Tanier’s first Monday NFL Recap column, along with his midweek column, will debut during Week 1 of the upcoming NFL season. You can find all his upcoming articles here at PFN. On social media, you can follow Tanier and PFN on Twitter: @MikeTanier and @PFN365, respectively.
