‘Go Be Aggressive’ — Micah Parsons Urges Cowboys To Follow Eagles, 49ers’ Blueprint

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons spoke about the need for the Dallas Cowboys to follow the Eagles in being aggressive in the offseason.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons watched on with the rest of the football world as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. The Eagles dominated the Chiefs throughout, not letting them score until the game was effectively over late in the third quarter.

One of the reasons they were able to have so much success this year was because of the addition of running back Saquon Barkley and other savvy, aggressive moves. Parsons took note of their actions and made a call to his own front office.

Micah Parsons Urges Cowboys To Be Aggressive in the Offseason

The Cowboys did not have the season they hoped for in 2024. After three straight seasons with 12 wins, they failed to qualify for the playoffs. To make matters worse, they needed to watch their biggest rivals, the Eagles, win the Super Bowl. Parsons spoke on Dallas’ future and what he would like them to do this offseason.

“Obviously, talent is here, but we’ve just got to finish and go be aggressive in the same way they did, you know?” Parsons said. “I don’t wanna sit back and just watch other people build and build and build and I stay the same. So, we definitely need some call to action.”

Parsons is a big part of what makes the Cowboys’ defense work. He was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 and has been named to All-Pro teams in three of his four seasons. In 2021 and 2022 he was named first-team All-Pro, and he was named second-team All-Pro in 2023. He has been named to the Pro Bowl four times.

While Parsons leads the defense, the offense could use some help. Dak Prescott leads as the team’s quarterback, but the skill positions have taken big hits in recent years. The Cowboys were once a deep team with great players at every position, but that is no longer the case.

One of the best ways for the Cowboys to address their offensive woes is with their first-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Cowboys have been linked to Boise State star running back Ashton Jeanty, though there are many avenues they could take to improve their roster.

This pick would make sense for the Cowboys as they have a thin running back room and struggled with the rushing game this past season. Jeanty is one of the best running backs to come out of college in years and would have an immediate impact in Dallas if he was selected.
