Saquon Barkley starred in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 26-18 win against the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football. The star running back rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 5.6 yards per carry, and also had two receptions for 52 yards.
In just 10 games this season, Barkley has rushed for over 1,100 yards and has been worth the money that the Eagles paid to get him in the free agency.
Micah Parsons, who has been very vocal about how disastrous the Giants’ decision to let go of Barkley has been, once again took aim at the franchise after the TNF game.
Micah Parsons Took Shots at Daniel Jones and Giants Franchise
Parsons took shots at both the Giants and Daniel Jones as New York prioritized paying the quarterback over Barkley.
“All jokes aside, the Giants almost made us believe Saquon wasn’t HIM anymore!!” wrote Parsons on X (formerly known as Twitter). “That really says a lot!! Daniel Jones was paid over Saquon! He was worth more to their franchise!! This really says a lot!!”
"Thank you, Giants."

The Giants are 2-8 on the season and are expected to draft a quarterback in 2025. Many believe that Jones has already played his last game for the team and will be released after this season.
New York is averaging just 15.6 points per game and 4.4 rushing yards per carry. They are clearly missing Barkley, and had they kept the Penn State product, pairing him alongside Malik Nabers might have saved Jones’ NFL career.
The Eagles signed Barkley to a three-year, $37.75 million deal and are getting the best out of him. The 27-year-old running back has arguably been their best player this season and has made the Giants franchise look worse every single week.
Saquon Barkley Is the Biggest Reason Behind Eagles’ Success
Everyone knew Barkley was one of the best running backs in the league, but the Eagles have maximized his talent. He is averaging a career-high 5.8 yards per carry and has been the biggest reason why Philadelphia is currently on a six-game winning streak.
Playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the league has helped Barkley, but he is putting up better numbers than the running backs the Eagles had in the past.
De’Andre Swift averaged 4.6 yards per carry during his time with the Eagles and was nowhere as good as Barkley in the passing game. Miles Sanders played four seasons with the Eagles, and his numbers were pretty good but not as good as Barkley’s.
The Eagles have one of the best rosters in the NFL and have a real argument for being the best team in the NFC, even better than the Detroit Lions. Philly currently has the league’s third-best scoring and passing defense while allowing the fewest yards per game.
Philadelphia’s next two games are against the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens. These two matchups will help the Eagles earn their respect, and if they come away undefeated, both Barkley and Jalen Hurts will climb up the MVP ladder.
