Jayden Daniels has raised the bar for future rookie quarterbacks, and a special QB would be needed if anyone comes close to what he has achieved this season.
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons can’t help but praise the Washington Commanders rookie, especially after his explosive performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Micah Parsons Shares His Appreciation for Jayden Daniels
The rookie has led his team to the Divisional Round on the back of exceptional on-field displays. After registering 3,568 passing yards for 25 touchdowns and 891 rushing yards for six rushing TDs, Daniels has continued similar form in the postseason.
Parsons took to his podcast “The Edge,” to preview the Commanders’ upcoming game against the Lions. While he hyped up the game, it was clear that he was mesmerized by Daniels. “He’s the fourth rookie QB to win a road playoff game. If he can win one, he can win another,” said Parsons.
“Beside Patrick Mahomes, there isn’t a better quarterback at finishing games. In must-have moments, like end-of-game drives, he is flawless with no mishaps.”
The 25-year-old predicted that it would be tough for the Lions to slow Daniels down and secure a win for themselves. Parsons has previously praised Daniels as well, fueling the fire that the LB is looking to move to Washington soon.
Daniels’ Teammate Is Impressed by His Calmness
Commanders rookie wide receiver Luke McCaffrey, younger brother of Christian McCaffrey, shared the secret sauce behind Daniels’ success. “He does such a good job of simplifying the game,” McCaffrey said in the interview. “A lot of people want to make it complex.”
“He’s cool, calm, and collected… He’s a competitor and he’s going to find a way to make a play and he’s going to find a way to win the game, no matter what happens.”
Fans would hope that Daniels would outwork the formidable Lions and take the team to the NFC Championship Game with the same calmness and grit as he did against the Bucs.
