‘Can’t Keep Defending This Man’ — Micah Parsons Faces Backlash From Fans for Undermining Cowboys’ 41-7 Blowout Loss vs. Eagles

    Published on

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons was trolled by fans for his latest comments to cope with the 41-7 blowout loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys suffered a crushing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17. Dallas came into this game having won four of their last five games but lost 41-7 to the Eagles, who were without Jalen Hurts.

Parsons missed four games earlier this season due to an ankle injury, but he has had another good campaign. However, his comments after the loss against the Eagles resulted in him getting called out by the fans on social media.

Fans Call Out Micah Parsons for Comments After Eagles Loss

Parsons believed the game was much closer than the final score suggested. “If you take away the scoreboard, the game would have been close,” said the Cowboys star.

Fans on social media were quite surprised by how a player of Parsons’ caliber could say things about not considering the scoreboard when it’s the only thing that ultimately matters.

Here are some of the reactions from the fans to Parsons’ post-game comments:

“He might literally be the dumbest m* in the NFL,” said a fan.

An Eagles fan added, “To be fair, if you take away the last 29 seasons, the Dallas Cowboys are a dynasty.”

“This the most Cowboy quote you are going to hear,” wrote a fan.

“He needs some media training because this is not it,” added another fan.

Parsons is one of the best players in the league, but his comments often result in widespread outrage on social media platforms. The 25-year-old linebacker has immense belief in his team, teammates, and coaches, but the fans on the outside usually look differently at the Cowboys as a whole.

The 2024 NFL season hasn’t been good for the Cowboys due to injuries to players like Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs, and CeeDee Lamb. Yet, the team has shown a good amount of fight in the last few weeks, which is a positive sign for the future.

Parsons is seeking a contract extension this upcoming offseason. If Jerry Jones is able to strike a deal with him, we might see the three-time Pro Bowler play even better next year.

Cowboys Can Make Life Tough for Their Division Rivals in Week 18

Dallas has nothing to play for in Week 18, but the NFC East team can still make life tough for its division rivals, like the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Heading into Week 18, the Eagles are the second seed, the Commanders are the sixth seed, and the Green Bay Packers are the seventh seed in the NFC.

The Eagles will remain the second seed in the conference no matter the result in their last game of the regular season against the New York Giants. However, a lot could change with the sixth and seventh seed position in the NFC.

The Cowboys will play the Commanders in Week 18 while the Packers will face the Chicago Bears. If Dallas beats Washington while Green Bay wins against Chicago, the Eagles will have to face the Commanders in the Wild Card Round. It will be an excellent result for the Cowboys as one of its division rival’s seasons will end in the first round of the playoffs.

If Parsons’ team loses to the Commanders, then the Eagles would have to go against Jordan Love’s Packers in the Wild Card Round, and it will be a very tough matchup.

The Cowboys fans often display more animosity toward Philadelphia than Washington, but they’ll be happy if those two teams play each other in the Wild Card Round. The winner of that matchup will then have to either face the Los Angeles Rams or the Packers in the Divisional Round.
